A Champion's Time (Leon x Reader x Raihan)

Chapter 3: The Journey Begins!

"Charizard! Flamethrower!"

"Suicune! Hydro Pump!"

The two attacks collided, forming a powerful chain reaction. Both Suicune and Charizard has been fighting for quite some time now. Neither refused to back down.

"Alright! I've seen enough!"

Charizard stopped his attacks and curiously looked at the champion. Suicune also stopped attacking, moving its eyes toward Leon as well.

"You're amazing Y/N!" Leon exclaimed, making his way over to you. "And Suicune is too! I've never seen a pokémon that moves in such a graceful manner and land such powerful attacks! My heart was racing the entire time!"

"My heart was racing too!" You said, unable to contain your wave of excitement.

You faced the champion's strongest pokémon and was able to hold your own! Maybe you actually had a shot at this gym challenge after all!

"Even at the disadvantage of types, Charizard was still a difficult opponent to face," You said, looking over at the dragon. "That's very impressive."

"Charizard has experienced quite a few battles, so he won't go down easily," Leon explained. "Quick question."

"Hmm?"

"Is Suicune male or female?"

"Well...what do you think?" You asked. Leon pondered for a moment.

"...You've always addressed Suicune by its name. So I'm guessing...neither?"

"That's right! Suicune is genderless!" You explained. "People often mistake Suicune to be a girl though."

Suicune grimaced, disturbed by this entire conversation. You returned Suicune to its pokéball and moved over to Charizard.

"May I?" You asked, outstretching your hand.

"By all means."

You rubbed the top of Charizard's head and gently scratched under his chin. Charizard smiled brightly.

"Aww~ Who's a good dragon~" You cooed. Charizard rubbed his head against you and responded in a low whine, begging for more affection.

Leon sweatdropped.

".....I've...never seen Charizard act like that..."

"He's a sweetheart," You said, smiling a little.

"Hahaha...Well! Congratulations Y/N! You passed with flying colors! I'll definitely endorse you!" Leon said.

"Awesome!" You exclaimed.

"Now! Let's get you officially signed up!"

Leon dragged you to the receptionist's desk and a woman registered you for the gym challenge. You posed for the picture on your league card and even signed it afterwards.

Once the woman finished registering you, she handed you your league card, and a gold ring.

"The gold ring is to hold your badges," The receptionist explained. "Here is a physical copy of your league card. You also have a digital copy to exchange with others online."

"Wow...Your league card is stunning!" Leon said, leaning over your shoulder and marveling at your picture. You looked up at him.

"Thank you Leon! Can we exchange card information?"

"Of course!"

The two of you exchanged info and you noticed a short bio on Leon's card. You would have to read it later.
