Chapter 33: An Honest Lie!

"S-she isn't in here!!"

"Well the window's open so she probably jumped out. Hmm...I wonder if the pavement below is blood-spattered..."

"Raihan! She is not dead!!"

Both Leon and Raihan bickered at each other and you smiled, trying to hold back laughter. You were currently hiding in a small closet inside the bathroom.

You had not jumped out the window; they just assumed you had.

"She probably raced off with Suicune..." Leon murmured. "Arceus, why is she so impulsive?!"

"She also left with my jacket," Raihan flatly said. "And I can't battle tomorrow jacketless."

You frowned. You had not known about Raihan's match tomorrow. Perhaps you should return his jacket. Your hand reached out to open the closet door, but paused when the two continued speaking.

"Hey Champ... What's your opinion on Y/N?"

"Opinion? Well she's really sweet, kinda spontaneous, but also a bit shy?" Leon thought aloud. "I really want to spoil her, but... she never takes any money from me."

"She probably already has a sugar daddy," Raihan explained. "And you know you just met her, right?"

Your cheeks flared as you covered your face from sheer embarrassment. Arceus, why couldn't they talk about something else?

"In all seriousness, we don't know a thing about her," Raihan said. He leaned against a wall and folded his arms. "You know that Suicune is legendary, right?"

Leon sighed and you remained quiet.

"I'm aware," Leon murmured. "I was clueless at first. Well, until Chairman Rose informed me. He seems to be really curious about Suicune..."

Chairman Rose? Isn't he Leon's boss?

"So, you do know. Why did she never bother mentioning that?" Raihan asked.

"I'm not sure... We could always ask. Let me call her."

You panicked and quickly pulled out your phone, changing the settings to silent mode. A second later, Leon's call came through. You shakily released a quiet breath.

"She isn't answering..." Leon murmured. "I need to make sure she's alright."

"She should be fine. No point in worrying if she doesn't answer," Raihan said. "We can just ask her when she gets back."

You heard two sets of footsteps leave the bathroom as the lights went off. Once you were positive that both Raihan and Leon had left, you exhaled, holding your phone close to your chest.

Arceus, you should have just left.

"I can't understand any of this..."

"That's because it's written in another language Champ. Kantoians speaks Japanese."

"I see... Well Kabu is from the Hoenn region. Perhaps he could help translate?"

"Hey guys!"

Both Leon and Raihan froze in place when they felt a hand rest on top of their head. You smiled as you stood behind the sofa, your eyes focused directly on Raihan's phone screen.

"What are you reading?" You asked.

Before you could read what was onscreen, the Rotom phone shut off and cowered behind Raihan. You raised an eyebrow as your grip on both Leon and Raihan's hair tightened.
