"Yoongi, can I have a sip?", Taehyung whines, lying on the floor in exhaustion and holding his hand out towards the water bottle Yoongi is drinking from.
"Why can't you just get your own?", there's a tension in his voice that normally doesn't appear.
Taehyung straightens up, leaning the palms of his hands against the dance room floor.
"What's the matter?", he eyes him earnestly.
"Nothing", Yoongi waves him off and ignores the stares from the rest of the members, "I'm gonna go rest."
The younger jumps up after he leaves the room. Glancing at the others in confusion, he follows Yoongi down the hallway. When he eventually catches up to him, he looks annoyed.
"What do you want?", Yoongi doesn't meet his eyes.
"You're angry."
"No, I'm not. I just want some rest", Yoongi maintains as he presses the elevator's button.
"Yoongi, I'm sorry I asked you for a sip of your water", Taehyung apologizes naively.
"Oh my god...", he scoffs, placing the palm of his hand against his forehead, "Taehyung, I'm not mad. About anything."
"Then what's bothering you?", the younger won't leave him alone, stepping into the elevator behind him.
Yoongi then lets his eyes meet Taehyung's, studying his demeanor for a moment. He hesitates, searching for the right words, unsure of what to say. But he knows his friend won't let him be until he says something.
"Do you actually like Moonhae?", his question catches the younger off guard, but he continues with a note of urgency, "Like in a way that you think you've fallen in love with her? And I don't want to hear any bullshit of you downplaying your feelings, because I need to know."
"I...", Taehyung stutters and is thankful for a moment to gather his thoughts as the elevator door opens and they step out into another hallway. This one is empty and the two pause there, Yoongi expectantly looking up at him, waiting for an answer.
He finally takes a deep breath and starts pouring his heart out, something he's only done to Jimin so far, "Every time I see her my heart feels like it's going to jump out of my chest. It hurts a lot when she's upset. I just want to hold her, comfort her, make her happy, but I can't. Because that's not my place. But every time I'm not with her, I wish she was there. And I imagine things that I shouldn't and want things that I shouldn't, but I do... Because, yes, Yoongi I think I've fallen in love with her."
Yoongi's reaction to his confession is not what he thought it would be. There's no surprise or admiration. There's just understanding and plain sadness painted across his innocent face.
"Are you going to do something about it?", Yoongi stares down at his feet as he speaks.
"What? I-I don't know", Taehyung stutters again, unsure of what to say.
"I see...", his expression stays unchanged, "I'll see you later then."
The boy just leaves him standing in the hallway, alone and confused, wondering what's going on in his mind.
After another day of long and hard work, all the Bangtan members are off to bed. Everyone except for Taehyung, that is, who has never had the ease of falling asleep like the others do. So he wanders the hallways in their dorm building, trying to clear his head. Something catches his attention as he passes one of the common lounge rooms: A small light burning inside, visible through the shaded glass door. He gently pushes it open and steps inside.
