March 2021

Hoseok dramatically throws himself onto the couch in his studio, trying to gain Youna's attention once again. Her focus, however, is on her emails she's checking on his computer, trying to get through some work while she's spending time with him.

"Aren't you going to miss me?", Hoseok starts whining, "I'll be on tour real soon."

"I guess", Youna answers distractedly, not even glancing in his direction.

"What do you mean you guess?", he pouts, "I thought you love me."

"... I do", she grimaces, knowing he likes to hear that kind of validation often even though she's not very open with her feelings.

"Then you'll miss me a lot, right?"

"I'm going to be working a lot", she responds with a sigh.

"Oh, right", his tone suddenly looses its playfulness, "All the big names, right? Like Exo and Got7 and..."

Listing those names, he doesn't sound very happy. He's been weird about her being the photographer for other idols before, but she's just ignored that until now.

"What's wrong?", she finally turns the chair she's sitting in impatiently towards him.

"You'll be around a lot of good-looking guys...", he trails off, implying something.

"So what?", she does not want to play guessing games and Hoseok knows that.

"So nothing", he shrugs, but still looks upset, "Just make sure they don't try anything."

"Try what?", she groans annoyedly.

"Oh my god, Youna, could I be more obvious?", he tries not to roll his eyes, "I don't want some other idol dude picking you up because you're the most gorgeous girl around!"

"You really think I'd cheat on you with some other idol?", she scoffs a little.

"It's really not that unlikely!", he argues back.

Going from his past experience with a girlfriend and the fact that he himself started dating Youna after meeting her at a photoshoot, it doesn't seem too crazy to him to assume the worst.

"You're kidding", she looks at him, but his gaze doesn't falter, "Look, I don't know who hurt you, but you should know by now that the thought of me cheating is just ridiculous."

"It's not that I don't trust you, it's just that some guys can be really... They won't stop until they have you", he sounds hurt.

"Hoseok", she says seriously, "The last time I dated someone was... Literally forever ago. And do you know how long it took me to warm up to you? I mean you of all people should know. How could I ever fall in love with anyone else?"

It makes him go silent for a moment. Of course she has a point. She always has a point. Because she's the most amazing girl he's ever met. Despite her unfixable attitude, there's nothing she could do to change the way he feels about her.

"Why me?", he mumbles, not wanting to ask, but wanting to know all the same.

Her chest tightens at that and she realizes once again that the emotions in her head don't translate to other people unless she speaks them out loud. Slowly getting up from the desk chair, she seats herself next to the boy on the couch.

"Because somehow you love me for me", she speaks quietly and shyly, "Not many people do that, because I'm not the easiest to be around. But you make me happy, even if I'm not smiling know that you are... You're the light of my life."
