I remember the first time I ever heard a Fairytale.

Miss Jo never read anything like that to us, at least not the mystical ones. No, she read things like Dr.Seuss and the every so discrete Everybody Poops.

It wasn't until first grade, the first year I went to a public school, that I knew what fairytales even were.

It was story time and our teacher grabbed a book entitled "Cinderella."

She asked if we'd heard the story before, and almost everyone raised their hands. Some kids even boasted how they read the story themselves; being a child prodigy was always in style at our school.

Yet Anastasia and I just sat there, dumbfounded that everyone knew something we didn't.

Our teacher paid no notice, clearly wanting to spare our feelings, and began the book.

I was enthralled with it. The plot of the story fused with my little first grade mind, creating a whole new tree for my imagination to stem from. Which just ended up turning into an obsession with Disney movies and any Fairytale I could read, up until about sixth grade.

Looking back on it it may sound extreme, but the emotion I felt while the Fairytale was read was the only thing I running through me.

All of of a sudden the characters were real. Obviously I had known such before, with Peter Pan and the Evil Queen, but they weren't family. This was. I wasn't just in love with fairytales I am one, well related to one.

"What?" Sam asks.

It's a simple question, but at least she could muster it. The rest of us stand staring at the woman in front of us like she was a strange goddess from a far off land.

"I'm so sorry it's come to this," Snow White begins, "a terrible event occurred when you were young and giving you up was our only option."

"Well what happened?" Sam asks, her tone still abrasive. I don't blame her, after all that's happened we each have a right to keep our guard up.

"The evil queen and I have a bit of history, long story short your father and I needed to escape after we were married. We managed to escape our realm and came across a beautiful land, Floristian. We ruled there, and gave birth to you four. Then She found us. We managed to get you out, then the whole realm exploded. Your father and I we beamed to a place of darkness. It wasn't till recently we escaped. I'll spare you all the details, we have to get moving." Her eyes stared at the entrance behind us. Shadows had appeared on the wall, being lit by one of the dozen lanterns.

Yet something was strange about them, they weren't wearing guard outfits. No they were wearing what appeared to be normal clothing.

That's when I noticed something. Right where one of the shadows hands should be, was a hook.
