"You're drooling." Natasha teased Carol, who snapped back to reality and blushed after being caught staring at Y/N sparring with Bucky.

"I wasn't drooling." Carol glared at the Russian assassin when the redhead let out a hearty laugh getting Y/N's attention, who ended up on the ground for losing focus, groaning in pain.

Carol hissed when she saw you land harshly on the ground.

"That must have hurt. You ok, Y/L/N?" Natasha asked her, to which she replied with a simple thumbs-up.

Carol shook her head amused and crossed her arms, watching Y/N get up again and ask Bucky a rematch, claiming she was distracted.

"Why don't you ask her out?" Natasha's question took Carol by surprise, leaving her with her mouth wide open.

Natasha chuckled and closed up her mouth.

"I mean... It's pretty obvious you have feelings for her..."

"That obvious?!" Carol panicked.

"Yes, but don't worry. She's just as oblivious as you are." Carol frowned at that statement.

"What do you mean?" Natasha rolled her eyes at the woman's inability to realize what's right in front of her before placing her hand on the Captain's shoulder.

"Ask her out. You'll see what I mean soon enough." She says before leaving Carol with even more questions.

Her attention was brought back on the woman fighting on the mat. Carol's crush, if that's what you want to call it, has been going on since the day Y/N stepped foot inside the facility. She was so mesmerized by her she couldn't tear her eyes off of her. Was it creepy? A little. But Carol's intentions were far from creepy. She felt it was her duty to protect that woman, to make sure she was safe every mission they were assigned to, even though she could very well take care of herself on her own.

She was so strong, funny, independent, kind... Everything about her made Carol's heart flutter.

"Hey, Captain!" Y/N's voice snapped Carol from her thoughts.

"Yeah?"

She watched as Y/N picked up a bottle of water and gulped it down, arching her back a little, giving Carol a view of her perfectly toned abs.

"Wanna go a few rounds? I swear I'm going to go easy on you." she joked, tapping the mat's railing, nudging her to come over.

Carol smirked

"As if you could ever beat me." she teased before getting on the mat, taking off her shirt to be in her tank top.

"No powers." Y/N warned her before going throwing a punch her way, which Carol swiftly blocked with a smirk plastered across her face.

"Can't promise you anything, Y/N." she teased before dropping to the ground and successfully kicked her off her feet.

Y/N fell to the ground with a loud thump, her hand flashing to her back in a way of easing her pain, playfully glaring to the blond woman standing above her.

The fight went on for a few hours, both winning a round each. It was their last round, the one which will declare the winner and Carol found herself struggling to block and dodge Y/N's blows. They were both tired but Y/N was set on winning, she was very competitive. So, the moment she saw an opening she kicked Carol to the ground and held her down with her weight, declaring herself the winner.

"I win!" she exclaimed out of breath, losing focus momentarily, giving Carol the opportunity to flip her around and be on top of her, her fists glowing.

"No, I win." Y/N gasped and glared at Carol, who just laughed when the woman underneath her pouted like a baby.

Soon, her laughter died down when she realized the position they were in and how close she was to her face. Carol blushed furiously and instantly jumped up as if touching you had burned her, making Y/n frown in confusion.

"I-I'll go have a shower... I-I guess I'll see you later?" she awkwardly asked, rubbing the back of her neck.

God! I sound like a hormonal teenager when talking to her crush!

Y/N nodded, still confused by the woman's odd behavior while watching her leave.

.....

"Asked her out yet?" Natasha asked as she took a seat next to Carol, placing a cup of coffee in front of the captain.

Carol, thanked her and took a sip of her delicious coffee before shaking her head no.

"Why?"

"Haven't had the chance yet." Carol replied with a shrug, earning a smack on the head.

"Ouch! What was that for?" Carol rubbed the back of her head and looked at the redhead assassin as if she was crazy.

"You're an idiot. You both are as a matter of fact. You are so scared of what the other might do when both of you clearly and obviously have feelings for each other!" Natasha yells in disbelief when Y/N joins them in the kitchen, stopping in her tracks with her mouth wide open.

"She has feelings for me?" they both ask at the same time, making Carol jump in surprise not having heard her come in.

They lock eyes and smile at each other awkwardly, making Natasha roll her eyes.

"You're welcome." She mumbled still not believing those two, before leaving the kitchen.

Carol cleared her throat and offered Y/N a cup of coffee, which she gladly accepted before taking a seat next to her.

"So..."

"So..."

"You have feelings for me?" Carol asked, fidgeting with the cup in her hands.

Y/N nodded with a soft smile before taking a sip of her coffee.

"Yup. Always have. I just didn't muster the courage to tell you." she confessed, looking back at her.

"I understand. It was the same for me." Carol confessed, taking the other woman's hand in hers.

"Would you like to go out on a date with me?" Y/N suddenly asked, taking them both by surprise.

"I would love to." Carol softly smiled.

"Great! I'll come to pick you up at seven tomorrow. Wear something light." Y/N excitedly said before kissing Carol on the cheek and leaving the kitchen.

Carol raised her hand and placed it where Y/N just kissed her, a wide smile breaking over her face. She had a date. She had a date and she couldn't wait, but first, she will have to go and thank Natasha.
