After the transfusion, the pain was bearable. You spent days with her, making sure she was ok, helping her figure out her powers and who she was.
"How do I control it? I still feel like I could explode any moment." she mumbled with food in her mouth, making it almost impossible to understand what she said.
You rolled your eyes amused and scolded her for speaking with her mouth full. She smiled and gulped down her food and rubbed the back of her neck in embarrassment
"Sorry..." she apologized before continuing eating
You shook your head with a smile on your face and took a seat next to her.
"Yon-rogg will help you control it, but first, I need to install the device to your neck." you replied and took the small disk you created, showing it to her.
Vers looked at it with a curious gaze, before frowning.
"Will it hurt?" she asked, a tint of fear covering her voice.
You looked at her with sympathy. Since the day she came here all she knew was pain, it was normal for her to react this way. You took her hand and smiled reassuringly
"It won't. Just know that this little thing, besides limiting your power, it gives the chance to Yon-Rogg to take away your power." you explained, seeing her roll her eyes after mentioning Yon-Rogg.
"I don't like that man. There's something off about him." she confessed, her fists clenching
"I know, but you will need to learn how to work with him. He will be the one to train you and help you control your powers." You squeezed her hand and laughed when she huffed like a baby.
"But I like you more... Can't you train me?"
You blushed at her confession and turned your head to the side, your hair covering your face, preventing her to see your slightly red cheeks.
"I'm flattered but, unfortunately, I am no warrior, nor do I have any idea how to control myself. Yon-Rogg is the best suited for this job." You explained and stood up to check her vitals, missing Vers' disappointed face when your hand left hers, leaving a cold reminder of it.
............
After installing the device in her neck and clearing her for training, Vers left you to yourself, missing her presence. You didn't realize how close you two have gotten. Although it's been a week of having her under you care, you felt a strong connection to the half-Kree and you were sure she felt it, too.
Years passed and she still found her time to come and visit you, making your heart jump from joy at the sight of her. You would mostly spend your time talking, her about getting her ass kicked to the Supreme Intelligence yet again and you about your day. You were both comfortable with each other and loved the other's presence.
You often wondered what was the feeling you had in your stomach anytime she smiled at you or simply touched your hand. It was a warm, fuzzy feeling. It made you feel as if you were floating, but also nervous and giddy at the same time. You didn't know what to make of it but you loved it, it made you feel good. You wondered if she was feeling it, too...
...........
You had to hurry up. You wiped the sweat from your forehead with the back of your hand, your heart beating faster and faster, fear eating you up alive. You ushered the Skrulls to keep moving and to be quick, warning them to be quiet. It was a little family you found 'hiding' from Kree's guards, you had to help them. You knew they were just victims of the Kree tyranny and all the bullshit about them being the enemy was fake. This was not the first time you were helping them. It happened many times before and even you didn't know how you managed to not being found guilty of this 'crime'.
