Jessie is a friend, yeah
I know he's been a good friend of mine
But lately something's changed that ain't hard to define
Jessie's got himself a girl and I want to make her mine
You've been friends with Jessie your whole life. He is your best friend, your brother, and knows everything about you just like you know everything about him. He is your rock, your shoulder to cry on when you need someone to hold you and tell you that everything is gonna be ok. You are his conscience, giving him advice when he needs it and a place to stay when he fights with his parents. You would never do anything to hurt each other.
But something's happened lately. Jessie's got a girlfriend and he disappeared. Well, disappeared is a strong word, let's just say you didn't see him as much as you did before this girl came around. He was so excited when he told you. He couldn't stop talking about her
"You have to meet her, Y/N. I'm sure you two would get along just fine!" He always tells you, but not once did you meet this wonderful girl he was in love with.
You have told yourself many times that that feeling in your stomach you had every time he would talk about her or was with her was just anger because your only friend didn't spend time with you anymore, but you knew that was not it. You knew what you felt was jealousy. You were jealous of what he had and wished you could have it with someone, too.
You have found yourself dreaming of what it would be like having a girl who loved you just as much Jessie loved his girlfriend and it was the most beautiful dream you ever had. What a shame it was waking up to a cold bed in the morning, the faceless girl of your dreams gone just like that. You let out a groan, muffled by your hands in your face and jumped out of bed to get ready for school, realizing you were late. After having a quick breakfast you ran outside and jumped in your car, trying to get to school as fast as possible.
Fortunately, you arrived five minutes before the bell rang, which gave you time to get your things from your locker before getting to class. Once you reached it, you found Jessie waiting there for you, something he has done rarely in the six months he's been dating his girlfriend.
"Looks who's back! Long time no seen, nerd. Decided to get back to the land of the living?" you joked, not having seen him in two weeks, pretending it didn't hurt you.
Jessie looked at you with an apologizing look before taking you in his arms.
"I'm so sorry! I was so busy with training, studying and Brie that I couldn't find time to hang out with you! I am a terrible friend, I know. Say it!" He says, dramatically shutting his eyes and opening his arms wide, as if waiting for a fatal blow to hit him.
You rolled your eyes amused, forgetting you why you were angry at him in the first place.
"It's ok, but you'll have to fix it. I demand at least a whole week dedicated to me. I am your best friend after all and I get lonely without you." you pouted and took your English book out of your locker before closing it.
"Done! But first I have to ask you something..."
"Oh God... Don't tell me you lost your cat again! Jessie I can't go to the animal shelter every time you lose the one I get you!"
"No no no! It's not that!" He laughed and rubbed the back of his neck in embarassment
"What is it then?" You asked, letting out a sigh of relief.
"I actually wanted to ask you if you were free tonight?"
"Sure, why?"
"I want you to finally meet Brie!" he exclaimed almost too cheerfully for your liking.
