You already regretted coming to this stupid party, damning your friend, Lila, for forcing you to come, claiming you don't have a social life. You rolled your eyes at the multitude of people surrounding you and filling the house, with so little space to move.
This was a charity event, everyone was dressed classy and you really felt out of place with your pants and shirt. All those people were rich assholes who came to these events just to show off how much money they had and Lila still wondered why you did not want to come.
"Smile, make conversation and don't drink. We both know how that usually ends." Lila whispers in your ear before leaving you to join a few friends of her.
You roll your eyes again and go outside, glad to find that nobody else was outside but you. You admired the view of the city as you took out a cigarette and lit it up, taking a drag.
"Wonderful view, isn't it?" a voice asked, startling you, making you choke on the smoke you were inhaling.
"Oh my God! I'm sorry!" the woman exclaimed, her eyes wide as you waved her off, coughing a little before being able to breathe again.
"It's ok." you say, your voice a bit hoarse.
You cleared your throat and took a deep breath before taking another drag off your cigarette.
"It is a wonderful view, yes." you say, letting out a puff of smoke, the woman joining your side, making you able to take a good look at her.
Your eyes widened at her beauty, her toned body. You can't say you have seen a woman as beautiful as her before.
"Not a fan of parties?" she suddenly asked, making you realize you were staring, before clearing your throat and looking back at the city lights.
"Not a fan of people." you joked, making her chuckle a little, throwing your finished cigarette in a ashtray.
"Jokes aside, I am not one to party around. I rather stay home, under my warm blankets, watching a sappy movie and bawl my eyes out until I fall asleep." you admit looking at her.
"Not that exciting, right?" you say, rubbing the back of your neck when she smiled at you.
"No, no. It is exciting. I mean... It's your life and you get to decide what's exciting and what not, right? Who am I to judge you?" she replies, taking your words a little to seriously, her eyes glimmering a little, making you think that something has happened for her to react like that.
"Are you ok?" you asked and she just shook her head, chuckling drily before wiping away a tear.
"I am fine. I'm sorry... You don't know me and I shouldn't really bother you with my problems." she apologizes, but you just stuck up her hand for her to shake.
"I'm Y/N Y/L/N." you introduce yourself, the woman shaking your hand.
"Brie Larson" she replies
"There, now we know each other. Bother me all you want" you say, making her smile.
"I thought you weren't a fan of people?"
"Sometimes I can make an exception." you wink at her.
"So... What happened to make you so upset?" you asked, taking a seat on one of the chairs outside, Brie following you.
"Everything... More like everyone. My parents, my fiancé, my manager... They all tell me what I should and should not do, they decide every little aspect of my life. I was never able to do my own thing, to say today I'm going to do whatever I want. I always had them breathing down on my neck, forcing me to do things I don't want to do, to be someone I don't want to be." she confessed, fussing with the expensive necklace on her neck.
