I was officially sixteen when the summer began and I put in my last day at the club for freshman practice.
Walking past the indoor track was when I saw him.
Unlike Link, this boy was tall, built, self-absorbed, had a few tattoos peeking out from under his cutoff shirt, and said exactly what he was thinking. He introduced himself as Ty, and his green eyes looked as if they could explode any second. He was a junior in high school from a few towns over and I instantly knew him from the papers proclaiming him to be a basketball stand out.
Of course I would be attracted to him; I was sheltered, he was charming, and unlike Link he didn't hide his feelings and refuse to admit them even after nine months.
I suddenly found myself in a relationship with the green eyes boy named Ty. He was open-minded, strong, athletic, and sweet spoken, and exactly what I thought I wanted.
Word got around the tiny high school fast about my new relationship, like it was some surprise to everyone who found out. The texts and dates slowly ended with my old friend, and I missed him. I was in my very first relationship, happy, excited for whats in store, but missing something.
I heard rumors of heartbreak stories about Link when he found out, but he was graduated and still denying any intimate feelings toward me.
My new relationship gave me my first kiss and a breath of a world I was yet to experience.
He was perfect in every single way except one; he had another girlfriend.
