I awkwardly look around the room as he gathers his stuff he'll be needing. He quickly changes clothes as I turn to the wall. When I turn back, he's in a cutoff t-shirt and a tight pair of Miami ball shorts.
My cheeks slightly flair at the sight of him. He's very handsome, but I can't keep my mind from Collin.
I wonder what he's doing. I wonder if he's had a good day at work. I wonder if he misses me as much as I do him.
"Okay, lets go," Mac says as he breaks me out of my thoughts. I give him a thumbs up and I follow him out of the door. When we get to the stadium, nobody is here but us. He leads me to the announcer stadium and shows me the room. It's huge, with long tables spread out in front of a giant window overlooking the field. There are multiple televisions above my head. Mac lays my bag on one of the tables and then grabs his. He pulls out a blanket and a pillow and places them on the Miami decorated couch behind the largest table.
"I grabbed you some things to lay down with," he says as he gestures to the couch. I smile and make a heart shape with my hands. He laughs at me and I manage to let out a giggle through the gritted teeth.
He cuts on one of the televisions and hands me the remote as I lay down. He tucks the corners of my blanket underneath me. I giggle again at the sight of him tucking me in like a child.
"You didn't sleep much last night, but I don't figure you remember it. They had to put you under due to the pain," he says as he sits down in one of the chairs.
Does that mean he was with me all night? I raise my head from the pillow.
"How long were you there?" I ask.
"I'm the one who picked you up from the campus. I was off duty, but I happened to walk through not long after you fell out of it. The crowd of people gave off the impression that something was happening," he says.
I lay back down. I don't remember anything after I stumbled into the crowd.
I turn my attention to the TV and watch the women behind a table talk about the latest breakups in Hollywood. They all have perfect hair and makeup, and I have to wear a face bandage to go with my broken arm.
I fall asleep with the thoughts of broken bones and bruises. His brown eyes shine in the sun. His white teeth glow as he laughs and rubs the curly hair out of his face. His pink lips press together and open back up. I'm lost in the way the black ink looks scattered across his arms in bible verses and nature scenes. His hands are rough as they rub down the small of my back. I shiver at the feeling of his legs against mine. He speaks, but no words come out. I look for them again, but I can't find them. He slowly disappears and I reach for him, never wanting to let him go.
I'm woken up by the sun sinking in the sky. I raise my hand to rub my face and winch when I remember the bandage over my jaw. I look at the clock on one of the tables to see it's a little after seven. I've been asleep for four hours.
The door clicks open and I jump at the sound. My eyes focus in and see two bodies standing in front of me.
"Em, are you okay?" One of the bodies say as it bends down to meet my eyes.
I shake my head yes, and I'm glad to see my best friend here.
"Mac told me everything. I'm sorry I didn't answer earlier, I was in a meeting with my tutor," he says. He takes his hand and pushes my hair away from my eyes.
"I'm fine," I stutter. Mac is leaned against the table behind of Clark.
I raise up and begin to gather his things. Both of the boys join me and take over after a moment.
"You're going to stay with me tonight," Clark says.
I shake my head no. The last place I want to be is with Bailey.
I want Collin.
