I'm brought back to reality by the sound of my phone ringing in my pocket.

How long have I been sitting against this wall?

"Hello?"

"Hey", he says.

Bailey.

"Are you done with your class? I'm sitting outside of your dorm. I've been here for about an hour."

An hour? I check my phone and to my surprise; it's three o'clock. I have been here for a couple of hours.

"Yeah, I'm almost there."

When I get to the top of the steps, I notice he's in a pair of basketball shorts and a t-shirt.

"Where are you going?" I ask.

"Well, I was gonna hang out with you before, but I'm gonna go play baseball with some friends now."  He stands up and grabs his bag without looking at me.

"I'm sorry. The class ran late." Why am I lying?

"Okay. I got to go. I hope you have fun with Clark at the party tonight. I'm sure you will." Right as he says that, I swear he rolls his eyes.

What is going on? A party?

He walks down the hall just as I walk into my dorm.

Jade is sitting on the bed as I walk in. She gives me a smile.

"Hey, I was wondering when you'd get back. I got you a coffee."

Yuck. "Thanks, you didn't have to, really." I mean every word.

"It's no problem. A boy stopped by while you were gone. He was tall, real quiet."

What?

"Did you catch his name?"

"No. He didn't hang around long enough."

I sit on the bed and take a minute to collect my thoughts.

Link. At my college. He should've graduated from college already; he's four years older than me.

Bailey. Acting distant. Does he know?

Wait. There's nothing to know about. I seen an old friend from high school and walked back to my dorm.

"Hey, did you hear me?" Jade interrupts my thoughts.

"N-no. What did you say? Sorry."

"I said I'm going to go out to eat with a friend. You can go if you'd like."

I look at my phone and its about 4 now. I have to start getting ready in a couple of hours for Clark to pick me up for the.. party?

"No, I'm going to stay here and get some of my stuff put away."

As I say this, she says bye, and shuts the door behind her.

I've spent the last two hours just sitting and thinking.

I've been thinking how my first day at college has been nothing that I could have ever dreamed of.

I begin putting on my clothes for the night; a black, long sleeve, dress with sparkles on the front and a pair of black heels to match. I never wear anything like this, but I've always wanted to.

Right as I finish my makeup and hair, the door opens and Clark walks in.

"Are you ready?"

He's wearing a black dress shirt with black pants to match. His tan skin and black hair play off of it rather well.

"Yeah, let me get my phone."

We walk to his car and I can't help but notice how handsome he looks in his new outfit.

As I buckle up I ask, "So where's the party you never told me about?"

He grins right as he says, "A frat house."
