I wake up when I feel someone lift me.
I open my eyes to see Collin laying me down on my bed. He covers me up and lays my bag on the desk across the room.
I'm too tired to speak so I close my eyes again.
Right as I'm ready to fall fast asleep again, I hear "Goodnight, Emory," and the door click shut.
The sun wakes me up and it doesn't help my headache any. My clock says its 9:15.
My head feels as if someone hit it with a baseball bat over and over again.
Am I still in my dress?
I take the cover off to reveal the same black dress I was in last night.
How did I get home? Clark would've put me in something else, I'm sure.
I walk over to the desk where my bag is laying to retrieve my phone. I have four text messages.
The first one from Bailey simply says, "Hey." I reply.
Two from Clark that read, "I need you to call me, now." And another one, "Collin told me that he took you home, I'll come by tomorrow. Love you."
Collin took me home?
I remember hanging out with him at the party, but not much more.
I continue to scroll through the messages to one from Collin.
"Good morning, I hope you're feeling better than you were last night."
I reply with "Not much better. My head is killing me."
The last one almost takes me to the floor, it's from Link.
"Hey. Are you free today for lunch?"
It takes me ten minutes of thinking to reply with, "Yeah," and he says he'll be outside my dorms at 12.
After I take a shower I feel much better. I let the hot water wash off last nights events.
I throw on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, straighten my hair out, and put on some makeup. My white vans are nearby so those are the shoes of choice.
I feel like I could sleep all day, but it's already 11:30 and I have lunch in 30 minutes.
The door clicks open and scares me out of my thoughts about my lunch date, and Jade walks in.
She looks like shit.
Her hair is a mess and her makeup is all over her face.
"You okay?" I ask as she walks past me to her bed.
"No." She simply states.
"What happened?"
"I spent the night at a frat house and woke up totally alone. My boyfriend left me and I had to walk back without shoes."
A frat house?
"Were you at a party last night?" I ask.
"Yeah, why?"
"I was there too. If I would've known, you could've came home with me." I say, and she smiles.
"Thanks, but my boyfriend was suppose to be with me."
I wonder what kind of boyfriend it takes to leave his girlfriend at a party alone.
Boyfriend.
I run over and grab my phone to check a text from Bailey.
"I'll be over sometime today."
I text him back saying, "Maybe this evening. I have a lot of things to do."
Should I feel guilty? Maybe a little.
I turn my phone off and throw it in my bag.
It's 12 now, and I walk down the stairs of my building and see Link standing in the grass, waiting for me.
