Osa guided the herd far from the group until she was satisfied with the distance it was at. She watched the Clickers run into each other, shoving and pushing while she took flight into the air. She flapped her little wings multiple times and saw Donnie helping Duke get Vv back home to the group. They were already halfway there and she is thankful to see they are okay. Her dangerous plan pulled through.

The small chickadee flew above the three-person group to make sure they got home safely, basically playing as their guardian angel when really she is just a small bird. Poor Vincent was trying to stay on her feet as she continued to experience Braxton Hicks.

Osita was relieved when Donnie got the human couple back home, though. The little bird shifted in mid-flight and landed from a five-foot height as her natural form before Donnie jogged up to her. He wrapped his arms around her tightly, kissing the top of her head. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

She nodded, looking into his eyes. "Yeah, I led them away. How is Vincent?"

The mutant replied to her. "She'll be fine, I promise."

"So she isn't having the baby?" Osa wanted to clarify.

Don shook his head. "Not yet. Thankfully."

Osa let out a sigh of relief, but also felt her heart pumping. "That... That was so close." Her voice shook as she clutched her chest, getting a rush of anxiety.

"I know." Says Donnie, his flesh hand on his girlfriend's shoulder. "I may have said to not engage with the Clickers, but you saved us. You were great."

The shapeshifter smiled at Donnie, believing she did a great thing...Of course, she died. Osa managed to save three individuals from a bunch of nasty Clickers. "Thanks." She says to Don.

"No," Donnie said. "Thank you."

Saving her friends' lives did make Osa feel great. She is thankful to know that she will see them another day, another week, maybe another year, and so on.

Now that she and her family are back home with the group, it was just another time to greet the brand new night that was on its way. Soon, everyone had retreated into the boxcars for cover and rested until it was the next morning. And before they knew it, they would be back on the railroad tracks to a place that they could call home.

Just after a few more weeks of sitting and feeling like they are rotting in the middle of nowhere in Montana, the freight train had been repaired and everyone is and everyone is ecstatic to know that the journey was back on. It was crazy to know that the state of Washington was just on the other side of Idaho and that it would not be a very long trip.

Everyone is on their tippy toes, so excited to know no that they are getting one step closer to Spokane, a new environment, a place full of trees, hills, and tons of wildlife that will provide them for many years.

And every once in a while, the train needed to come to a rest stop so others could scavenge, stretch their legs, go to the bathroom, and of course, give the train some kind of fuel to keep it going.

Tonight, Osa peered at the stars and the stories they told, and they never disappointed people like her. The Big Dipper, Little Dipper, Orion's Belt, whatever she could see made her smile. She leaned up against the edge of the boxcar's door and felt the breeze settle her stressed mood and soon felt a hand sit on her waist.

Donnie rested his cheek on top of her head and closed his eyes, taking in this peaceful moment with her.

The sun started to rise around four o'clock in the morning. Only a few people got a little bit of sleep because it was either they had insomnia, they couldn't sleep because of their odd sleep schedules, were hungry, or they really wanted this journey to end.
