Fresh start

Chapter 3

Betty's POV:

I was scrolling through Instagram and went to the search bar and typed Veronica Lodge. I scrolled through her profile to make sure it was her and followed, she had 7,214 followers. I went on to her follows and followed Kevin, Archie and jughead. None of the boys had near the followers Veronica had or me. I had 29million follows, 29million people who know me or have heard of me.

At dinner

'So ,mum, dad. I was kind of hoping you'd let me hang out with my friends on Friday' I said as I moved the food around my plate with my fork. My mum looked at my dad waiting for his response, she would totally say yes but it's my father that you never know what he could say. 'Only if you text me every hour telling me where you are and you have to be back by 7' he said sipping his drink. 'It's a weekend can't I stay out till 8 please' I said giving him the puppy eyes. 'Fine' he said. 'Thank you' I said clapping my hands.

The next day

When I woke up I chose an outfit: blue ripped jeans, and an oversized beige hoodie, I put my hair up into a tight high ponytail and applied a small amount of makeup.

Driven to school

When I stepped out my car, I took a huge breathe in and then let it out. Day two. Today I really wanted to get to know Arch and Jug better as I spent most of my day yesterday with V and Kev. As I walked into the hallway I saw Veronica leaning next to my locker on her phone. 'Hey girl' she smiled putting her phone away when she saw me. 'Morning V, how are you' I asked grabbing my books from my locker. 'Good. So I kinda forgot to tell you yesterday that you need to choose an extra subject thing or whatever like, cheerleading for instance' Veronica said when I closed the locker. 'What is there' I asked. 'There's the school newspaper, chess club or cheerleading, which I'm in. Also you can do more than one based on how much time you have' she said. 'Well I like to write so the newspaper' 'ok I'll show you where it is during free period' she smiled.

'Elizabeth Cooper funny running into you' some masculine voice said from behind us as we were walking, I stopped and turnt to face them. 'Do I know you?' I asked looking at them, 'no but I know you like everyone else in this school' 'who are you' 'Chuck Clayton, so do you want to go pops on Friday' he smirked. 'Can't sorry' I said and turnt to walk off but he grabbed my wrist and gripped it hard. 'Ouch that hurts' I flinched and tried to pull my arm back only making it tighter. 'No, Only if you come to pops with me Friday' he growled. 'I said no you asshole, get your head out your ass and listen to me when I say no' I yelled kicking him in the balls. 'Bitch' he grunted and let go of my wrist. 'Bastard' I said back and walked off with Veronica who was shocked. 'Damn B' she said looking at me. 'Some dicks like him need to be put in there place and I don't mind doing it' I grinned as we walked to our first period.

Free period

Veronica led me to a room with a sign saying the blue and gold, 'here it is, just tell him that your joining and then he'll give you a subject or something like that' Veronica said as she walked off. I knocked on the door and walked in. 'Hi I'm Betty Coop-' I began and then realized it was jughead. 'Oh hey didn't realize you ran this thing' I smiled. 'Yeh well no one else is interested believe it or not, what brings you here' he asked leaning against the desk. 'Oh I wanted to join' I said shuffling my feet, he raised an eyebrow 'you write?' He asked. 'I mean yeh I've written a few things and I keep a diary so I kind of have experience and I was in charge of my old newspaper at my school since I was the only one there. It was online' I joked. 'Ok then welcome to the blue and gold' he said and waved his arms out gesturing the room. 'Thank you, so what do I do?' I asked 'well nothing needs doing right now so you can go if you want' he said. 'How about you tell me about yourself since I know nothing, I mean I eat lunch with you and know nothing about you' I smiled sitting on the small sofa in the corner of the room. 'Ok, I'll ask you a question then you ask me' he smiled. 'I barely know myself' I giggled. 'Well then we'll get to know you together,' he said slouching on a chair. He looked at me till he said 'what's your favourite song?' 'Out of all the questions you could ask, you ask me the hardest one to answer' I laughed. 'Ummm I don't know, I'll tell you when I figure which song is my favorite' I smiled.  I stood up and walked around him observing him, 'what are you doing' he asked, 'thinking of a good question' I said looking at his jacket. 'What's that?' I said pointing to the snake on his leather jacket. He took it off and showed me, 'south side serpents' I read, 'it's the gang I'm in' he said putting it back on. 'Isn't that dangerous' I asked. 'I guess' he shrugged and sat back down in his seat.
