Chapter 8

Betty's POV

I looked around the room and saw Toni's sunset pink hair bounce as she laughs at something the boy in the leather jacket next to her said. I walked over with a smile on my face and Toni returned one when she saw me. 'Hi Betty' she said as I walked up to the group of serpents, 'hi Toni, hi everyone I'm Betty pleasure to meet you' I smiled as I looked around at them all. 'What do you want' some boy barked at me clearly confused why I was here. 'Oh I just wanted to say hi, and was wondering if you saw Jughead' I said as I sipped my drink. 'Probably of with some girl' a boy with a serpent tattoo on his arm smirked. 'He hasn't arrived yet' Toni shrugged. 'So anyway how are you, has chuck harassed you again yet?' Toni asked changing subject. 'I'm doing good, and no if he does I'll be sure to give you a call' I laughed.

Just as in cue Jughead walked up next to me with a confused expression on his face 'Betty, what you doing over here?' He asked, 'oh I was saying hi to everyone, I'm going to go get a refill want one?' I asked gesturing to the drink. 'Sure' he smiled softly having little creased dimples appear on his face. I smiled back before walking over to the punch table and grabbing a spare cup for Jughead and filled them up. As I walked back I saw Jughead talking to another serpent the same one who asked what I wanted when I went over earlier, but there conversation seemed serious as in Jughead had a straight face whilst the other one had a smug smirk across his face. As I walked up they both stopped talking after I heard Jughead say 'deal' and then turnt to me. 'You guys good' I asked as I handed over the cup to Jug. 'We're fine Betts, he was just saying something about school' Jug said in a way that he was trying to convince himself that. 'Mhm sure, if you didn't want to tell me that's fine' I said, I glanced over at the boy who he was speaking to ,he still had a smug look spread across his face. 'I'm sweetpea by the way' the boy announced obviously caught me glaring at him. 'Betty' I responded and shook his hand in some formal manner.

A few hours later

Veronica's POV

It had been a few hours since I saw Betty, I thought after she spoke to a few people she'd come and dance with me and the two boys: Kevin and Archie, but she didn't, in-fact when I searched around the room I couldn't find her.

I began to panic and ran up the Kevin and Archie 'I can't find Betty' I shouted so they could hear me over the booming music. 'W'ell help find her' Archie said giving me a relaxing smile that calmed me. 'I'll check upstairs, Kevin you double check around here and Veronica check outside, and don't worry we'll find her' Archie exhaled as he rested a hand on my shoulder sending shocks through my body. I nodded and headed outside to search around.
After I nearly gave up I pulled out my phone and dialed her number for the ninth time. I held the phone up to my head to hear the loud buzz repeat two times before I heard a phone ring of from round the corner. I hung up and quickly sped walked around near the pool area, where I found betty's phone and parts of her clothes and somebody else's chucked onto a sun bed. I looked up towards the pool and saw her swimming around in her underwear and bra. 'Betty?' I asked, she moved her head and faced me with a smile 'oh Veronica hi, want to join it's nice' 'why are you in the pool' I asked, she went to respond but was stopped when someone jumped up from under the water surface making her scream and laugh at the same time. 'Betty we're going home, come on' I said ignoring the boy who just jumped out the water. 'If she wants I can just bring her back later' a familiar voice said coming from the boy who was in the pool. He turnt around so he was now facing me, I was shocked when I realized it was him. 'Jughead?' I questioned not sure if it was one hundred percent him. He nodded in response whilst he and Betty pulled themselves out the pool and sat down on the sun bed.
I removed the hoodie I had put on earlier and gave it to Betty, she instantly put it on. 'She's drunk Jughead and you were fooling around with her' I said loosing my temper. 'I'm not that drunk' Betty stutters. 'B you can barely tell if there's two of me or one' I smiled at her because it's not her fault she's sitting here practically naked. 'We were just having fun, loosen up a bit Veronica' Jughead joked, 'she's not one of your play toys, she's supposed to be your friend and she's famous she can't be seen swimming around in her underwear drunk with some fuckboy' I scoff. 'She can make her own decisions' he began to yell. 'She's drunk she doesn't know what she's doing,' I growled, I grabbed Bettys stuff and her hand before walking to Archie's car. I text him hoping he'd hear it over the noise:

Veronica: hey arch I've found her, can you drive us home x

Archie: sure be out in a sec

Once Archie had came we all got in the car including Kevin and drove off. 'Where was she?' Kevin asked. 'Well if I showed up five minutes later she would of been skinny dipping with Jughead, luckily I showed up early enough for him not to be fucking her in the pool' I said rolling my eyes. 'That's shit, I thought Jughead would have some respect for his friends' Archie huffed as he drove us home. 'We weren't going to have sex, we were just having fun' Betty giggles. 'Girl, he's a player remember, it would of happened eventually, definitely since your drunk and he's not' I said as she leaned on me, falling asleep.
