Fresh start

Chapter 6

Friday

Betty's POV:

It was Friday, my mum had agreed to let me stay round Veronica's on Saturday night. Today we were all going to Pops, I decided to wear a pastel pink and white long sleeve top with a black dungarees dress over the top, I wore my hair in a pony tail and my black vans.

When my car pulled up at school I stepped out and walked towards my locker. I got my books out and closed my locker, I went to turn around but was stopped when two arms boxed me in. I turnt around to be met with Chuck Clayton's smug face. 'What do you want' I said rolling my eyes. 'To see if we're still on for tonight' he smirked. 'I told you no, it's never gonna happen' I growled. He stepped closer so now I could feel his breath against my skin. I shoved him but he didn't move, 'let me the fuck out' I gritted. 'Why would I when Im having a great time here' he smirked. I went to kick him in the balls but stumbled forward a bit as he was pulled back away from me. I looked up and saw Toni and Jughead standing there with Chuck Clayton slammed against the wall. 'You okay Betty?' Toni asked as she walked over to me. 'Yeh, he was just too close' I said. 'We'll deal with him' she said. 'Thanks' I smiled.

I walked to the student lounge and saw Veronica and Archie talking, 'hey' I smiled as I sat next to V. 'Morning, how are you, excited for Pops' she asked. 'Very, I can't wait to try this food that you guys won't stop going on about' I laughed. 'You'll never taste anything better' Archie grinned. The bell rang and I walked with Veronica to our geography room.

'You showed up later then usual, everything okay' Veronica questioned as we passed people on the hallway. 'Yeh well chuck is clearly obsessed with me. He won't leave me alone' I said. 'Did you kick him or something again' she giggled. 'No Jughead and Toni dealt with it' I shrugged.

Later at the blue and gold

'Hey Jug, do I need to do anything today' I smiled as I walked into the blue and gold and put my bag down. 'Hi betty, yes actually I have an article for you to write about bullying.' I sat down opposite him and pulled out my apple laptop and began to type. 'I just wanted to say thanks for earlier' i said as I looked over the top of my laptop. 'Anytime. He's a proper asshole you know' Jughead responded. 'I figured.'

After school

We all met at Veronica's locker and headed to the car park to where her black limo was waiting. I slid in the seat next to Veronica and opposite the boys. 'I love limo's' Archie said as he looked at the trays of chocolate attached to the sides. 'Back in New York I would always drive around in one, but now I just go in whatever car now' I smiled as I grabbed a chocolate and put it on my mouth.

After a few minutes the limousine stopped so we unbuckled our seatbelts and got out. I looked at the building in front of me. It was old and retro with a huge neon sign. I followed everyone into the door, we walked into a booth and I slid onto the red sofa seats next to Veronica and Kevin. 'So what is there to order?' I asked. 'Milkshakes, fizzy drinks, burgers, fries, desserts. Basically anything' Kevin said to me. A friendly looking man walked up to our table holding a pen and paper. 'Hi pops, this is Betty. She's new.' Veronica smiled as he looked at me. 'Nice to meet you, welcome to my diner. It's an honor to have you eat here, what can I get you all' Pops smiles. Veronica ordered a chocolate milkshake, Kevin a vanilla, Archie a strawberry, Jughead got a chocolate and I got a vanilla one. We all got burgers as they insisted I try them.

'I just wanted to say thanks for being so nice to me' I smiled as we all clinked our milkshakes together.
It was nice feeling like a normal teenager, sitting with people who don't just want a picture with me or an autograph. I was excited for the party tomorrow too, I just want to let loose, do something wild that my parents or anyone wouldn't agree with. I couldn't wait.

A few hours later

I checked my phone and saw it was 7:47. 'Oh I better get going, got to be home for 8' I smiled as I stood up. 'I had an amazing time, thanks, I'll see you tomorrow Veronica. Text me your address' I said as I grabbed my bag. 'I'll walk home with you' Archie said as he jumped of his seat and walked with me out the door. 'You don't have to if you want to stay' I said. 'No it's fine, I want to go practice this song on my guitar at home anyway' he said as we walked on the path to our house.

'So I'll see you tomorrow' he said as I walked to my front door, 'yeh see you then' I smiled as I unlocked my front door.
I walked into my house and took of my shoes and coat 'im back' I shouted as I walked into the kitchen. 'Hi sweetie' my mum said as I leaned on the counter. 'Hi Mum, where's dad?' I asked as I bit into an apple. 'Work. Anyway how was it' 'amazing, pops has the best burgers and it was fun hanging out with my friends, also Veronica said she'll text me her address later' I grinned I walked upstairs and got into the shower.
