The next day arrived and it was the start of a new week.
Betty got changed into a pink sweater and blue jeans, she had her tied up into a ponytail . In the morning she hung around with Kevin, discussion their weekend since they hadn't spent anytime with each other. Kevin described  the guy he had spent a night with on the day of the party. Betty did everything she could not to speak to Jughead so when she was supposed to go to the blue and gold, she wrote her article outside on the bleachers and then after she had took it back and placed it on the table. During the remaining time she had, Betty went to the gymnasium and joined Veronica who practised the cheer routine for Friday's big game. When Betty normally had to do the school newspaper, Veronica took on extra cheer with Cheryl and a few other girls.

The next day went practically the same, except Betty didn't attempt to avoid Jug because they'd have to talk eventually. When she did go to the blue and gold to write her article he didn't show up. During lunch he once again didn't show up, and in the hallways if she saw his beanie in the distance it would soon disappear into the crowds.

After she had done her workout with Zack after school and went back to her home to only her mother; since Alice had got the job at the register she'd be writing in the study. Betty ran a bath and added bubbles to destress. That night she facetimed Toni whilst they done their homework and talked about school.

"So, what extra curricular do you do? I've never asked." Betty smiled looking up from her sheet. "Oh, I was going to join cheerleading but then I realised that I would be the only serpent and I didn't want to be treated different so I joined this crappy chess team." Toni sighed as she placed the work she had completed into her bag. "Cheryl is actually really nice, I doubt she'd let the girls treat you different. If you want I can talk to her tomorrow and see if you can try out?" Betty said, Toni nodded in agreement. They both stayed on face time for another hour before saying night and hanging up.

Betty's POV

When I woke up the next morning I had finally decided I need to talk to Jughead since I was leaving in three days to go to New York. I picked out a pastel rainbow short sleeved top with a pair of white shorts. I put my hair up in the classic tight ponytail.

That morning, I met up with Veronica and we went to every class together until lunch. "I really need to talk to Jughead, I'll see you later." I smiled, giving Veronica a hug before walking to the table we'd eat at. But he wasn't there so I checked the serpent table, he also wasn't there. I even checked the Blue and Gold. I was walking down the hallways till I saw my friend, Toni, who was laughing at something Sweatpea had said. "Hey guys, have you seen Jughead? I think he's avoiding me." I asked and greeted them with a smile. Sweatpea shrugged and walked off so I turnt my full attention to Toni. "Maybe he's smoking." She replied, I thanked her as she jogged back over to Sweatpea who was walking in the opposite direction of me. I quickly ran out the school and walked round the back where I had watched him smoke before.

As I made my way round the corner I saw him lent up against the wall with the cigarette between his lips lost in his own thought. "Hey." I said as I approached him, he looked at me confused before removing the cigarette and chucking it to the floor. "So, care to explain why you've been avoiding me since the party?" Jughead sighed as he raised his eyebrows. "Well you avoided me yesterday and tried to today so it's not all my fault we haven't spoke." I said defending myself even though It really was my fault. "I did that to give you space, you seemed pissed at me, I'm not going to constantly ask you. So do you want to explain please?" He replied crossing his arms. "Fine," I sighed, "I'm annoyed because I thought we were more then friends. I didn't know you kissed your friends like you do with me, but I guess I was wrong." I said and he furrowed his eyebrows before dropping his mouth open and relaxing his face. "I should of thought that Toni would put it on loud speaker." He mumbled to himself, he looked up from the floor and caressed my shoulder with his hand. "I'm sorry. We haven't really talked about what we've been doing or what we are, I didn't know what to call us and I didn't think about what I was saying since I was tired and grumpy. Sorry. Are we okay now?" He apologised with a small twitchy smile. I nodded and he pulled me in for a hug, wrapping his arms around my waist. "Why don't we go out together before I go New York this week." I said when we pulled apart. "Are you asking me on a date?" He smirked biting his bottom lip. "I guess I am." I chuckle, "I'd love to. What day and where?" He asked resting his hands on my shoulder and playing with the edge of my collar. "Well I do have to do cheerleading at the game on Friday but we can go after that." I suggested, Jughead nodded in response, I stood on my tiptoes and kissed his soft lips. "I'll find us a nice place to go, just as long as I get to see you in that cheer uniform first." He smiled making me laugh. "Come on, Veronica's waiting for me at the lunch table." I said holding onto his upper arm and walking back into the school.
