Shawn Mendes: When You're Ready
'Don't know why I tried, cause ain't nobody like you, familiar disappointment every single time I do. Every single night my arms are not around you, my minds still wrapped around you.'

'I don't think I have been this hungover in a long time' Shawn groaned as we lay in bed, both of us nursing our hangovers from the night before, except it seemed that Shawn's was way worse than my own.

'I think what we both need is breakfast and coffee,' I laughed and Shawn nodded as we both dragged ourselves out of bed, Shawn looking like he had been hit by a bus and myself looking like I had gone missing for about seven hours.

'I agree, first I need a shower though,' Shawn said and I just nodded before pulling on the first pair of clothes that I found, not caring in the slightest how I looked as I needed something in my stomach that was not champagne and McDonald's from the Uber ride home.

Shawn eventually emerged from the bathroom looking slightly more alive, whilst I was half slumped against the couch in his bedroom.

'Come on Si, let's get you something to eat,' Shawn laughed when he saw the state that I was in, which was not a good one. 

'Should we go to that cafe just down the road?' I suggested as we left his apartment and he nodded at my suggestion before linking hands with my own as we made the short journey down his street to the cafe where we spent most of our Sunday mornings when I was here.

'He, just a table for two please,' Shawn said with a smile as we walked in, the waiter nodding at his request and seating us inside where we usually sat, Shawn, ordering both of us a flat white the minute we sat down.

'Can I talk to you about something?' Shawn asked after we had gotten our coffees and ordered our food, the coffee making me feel slightly more human after last nights events.

'You can talk to me about anything,' I said with a smile and Shawn just nodded before he began to talk.

'So Luke confronted me last night, about you, about us. He basically hinted that he still loves you and went on about how lucky I am to be with you,' Shawn said and my breath hitched because I overheard their conversation last night and I probably should tell him that.

'I know, I heard you two talking about it,' I said with an awkward smile. 'I wasn't planning on following you, I just know that Luke can get heated and when I saw him follow you I wanted to make sure that everything was okay between you two.'

'Has he said anything to you, before what he said to me?' Shawn asked and I knew that I had to tell him about Luke coming to see me when Shawn was already in Los Angeles.

'When you were away, he came to see me and told me that he still loves me and wants to be with me,' I sighed and I saw all the veins on Shawn's body pop, which would usually be a huge turn on in other circumstances, but right now, it was quite scary.

'Nothing happened I promise and I am sorry that I didn't tell you earlier, I just didn't think that it was worth mentioning but considering what happened last night I guess it was. I'm sorry Shawn, I didn't realise that he still felt this way,' I added quickly with a sigh before our food was set down in front of us.

'It's okay Si, I know it isn't your fault,' Shawn said before taking a bite of his eggs. 'Just next time it happens, would you please be able to tell me?' he asked softly after he had finished his mouthful and I nodded with a small smile on my face.

God, I do not deserve him, he is way too good for me and here I am still in love with someone else when I wish that I was not.

'I will, I promise,' I said with a smile.

'Good, now let's finish our food before I have to into a writing session,' Shawn said with a grin and I nodded before shoving my mouth with bacon, Shawn talking about the songs that he would be writing in the next month or so, and all the ideas and lyrics that he had put to paper so far.

Shawn ended up catching an Uber from the cafe as both of us spent too much time debating which Avengers movie was the best and who is the Spider-Man Actor. 

I ended up walking back to Shawn's apartment alone when I was stopped by a familiar face.

'Can we please talk?'Luke asked and I groaned at him as I continued to walk back to Shawn's apartment, not having anything to say to Luke.

'Nope, not after what happened last night,' I snapped, turning around to face Luke whose skin was as white as snow.

'How do you even know that?' Luke asked and I just walked into a random coffee shop so that we would not be seen by the paparazzi, as 'Shawn Mendes' girlfriend spotted with ex-boyfriend Luke Hemmings in LA,' does not make a good headline for anybody involved.

'I followed you two to the bathroom,' I said looking around the cafe, realising that nobody else was in here and the two staff members looked to be in the early fifties and probably did not give damn about the two of us. 'Shawn also told me this morning before I told him I knew.'

'I should be mad that you followed me but I guess it's just you looking out for the people that you love,' Luke said softly and I just rolled my eyes as I went to sit in the corner booth, Luke going to the counter to order us coffee's as we did not want to be rude to the people working here.

'I got you your usual,' Luke said as he sat down, taking off his cap to reveal the golden curls that every teenage girl, including myself at one stage, loved so much.

'Thank you.'

'She isn't like you.'

'Pardon?' I asked as I removed the sunglasses off my face.

'Eliza, she is nothing like you and I hate it,' Luke said softly.

'Why wasn't she with you last night?' I asked before our coffees were placed before us, Luke and I thanking the lady before she walked back to the counter, leaving us in an awkward silence.

'I broke up with her, the day after I came to see you in Sydney. She knew something was off about me and we had a fight, well we always would fight, but this time it was worse. She always knew that I still wanted to be with you but this fight I told her that I still loved you,' Luke said trailing off. 'Love, I mean I still love you, and yeah I broke up with her.'

'Oh, I'm sorry,' I said simply before taking another sip of my coffee, not sure what to say in this situation.

'I don't even know why I tried with her, it was just a disappointment as she is nothing like you Sienna, my mind is still wrapped around you and I don't think it will ever go away.'

If only he knew, if only he knew.
