Come On Mess Me Up: Cub Sport
'Cause I want this, you know I want this. So come on, mess me up.'
'God she looks beautiful doesn't she?' my mum whispered in my ear as we stood in our allocated aisle, watching Evie walk down the aisle, a beaming smile on her face as she did. They had chosen to get married in the backyard of their North Shore Sydney house, which was essentially a large rose garden, with an open area of grass at the back which had been set up for the reception after the ceremony.
'She does,' I said softly back, admiring the simplicity bohemian style of her wedding dress, which suited Evie's style and personality perfectly. It made her look like some sort of fairy princess, the way that the dress flowed from her body, which was due to the tulle fabric used to make the skirt. Her back was slightly exposed, showing off her naturally bronzed skin, with short floaty sleeves just covering her shoulders and coming down into small bustier type top half of the dress, with floral applique over the skirt of the dress.
I caught Luke's eye as Evie reached the makeshift altar, Michael crying happy tears as he saw his future wife, a grin on both of our faces, because Michael was never this emotional, over anything really. The boys were in black suits, with no ties or bowties, as the whole theme of the wedding as very bohemian and relaxed, as shown by Evie's dress and the simplistic flower and fairy lights decorations.
The ceremony was short but sweet, as neither Evie or Michael have ever been one to make a big fuss about anything. It was a stand-up reception, with finger food being served throughout the first half of the night.
'Hey my gorgeous girl,' Luke said to me, after finally finishing with the wedding party photos. Calum was Michael's best man, as Michael was his, so it only made sense, which probably means that Ashton will be Luke's, which makes me extremely happy as I would not have it any other way.
'Oh hey,' I said with a smile, quickly moving closer to him to kiss him on his lips, missing the feeling as I had not seen him all day since he had been with Michael and the boys all day.
'You look beautiful, I love your dress, it's very different for you,' he said as he wrapped an arm around my waist as we walked to the bar, both of us in need of a drink. I was wearing a full-length slip dress, which started in a soft gold colour and transitioned into a rose pink colour, which was extremely out of my comfort zone but so far I had only received positive comments, which made me feel better about wearing a colour that was not white or black for once.
'Thank you, baby,' I said as we reached the makeshift bar, Luke having a look at the drinks menu. 'You look very handsome.'
'I know,' he said with a wink and I just rolled my eyes at him as he kissed me on my temple before ordering himself a glass of chardonnay and myself a glass of pinot noir.
'I can't believe we are the last 5sos couple to get engaged or married,' I blurted out, Luke's eyes enlarging at my words and I knew that I had said the wrong thing, which is a bad habit of mine, speaking before the words process through my brain. 'Sorry, I shouldn't have said that.'
'No no baby, it's fine,' Luke laughed as we slowly walked back to our friends. 'I also can't believe it, but a lot of people thought I would never get a girlfriend the way I used to be, so I think we are doing well.'
'I love you,' I said simply as we reached Ashton and Isla who were gorging their faces with spring rolls and dumplings, making me giggle when I saw their faces stuffed with the incredible delicacy's we were being provided with tonight.
