All I Want: Kodaline
'When you said your last goodbye, I died a little bit inside. I lay in tears in bed all night, alone without you by my side.''So, tell my why Shawn is back and tell me why we are being invited to a party at his parents house?' I questioned once again as I got into the Uber XL with my friends, all of us considerably drunk.
'Its Aaliyah's eighteenth birthday and Shawn wanted us all there to celebrate,' Milly said as the Uber drove away from her house and I just nodded, knowing that I was invited to her birthday months prior to this but I had no intentions of going since Shawn and I broke up.
I was quite close with Aaliyah during mine and Shawn's relationship, as she was like the little sister I never had and since I do not have a sister, it was like having another sibling which I loved.
'Have you seen Shawn's family since the break up?' Izzy asked and I shook my head.
'No and it feels quite weird. I used to spend so much time there, even when we were living together and to just stop seeing them all together felt like a shock.'
Shawn's parents were basically my second parents, helping me cope with the loss of Jordan extremely well and just being genuine people, which is one of the things I missed most about being with Shawn, and Luke for that matter, their respective families.
When we arrived to the Mendes family home, it was packed. Teenagers were streaming in and out of the house and you could hear the music from inside of the Uber.
'Gosh, I forgot how crazy eighteenths were,' Henry laughed as we walked through the front door, being hit with the smell it alcohol and other substances as soon as we entered the hallway.
'We cannot judge, we used to be exactly like this,' I laughed as we entered the kitchen, seeing Shawn's parents, Karen and Manuel standing around with some of their friends.
'My favourite twenty year olds!' Karen said as she noticed us, a smile on all of our faces as she embraced us each individually. 'How are you Sienna?' she said as she reached me, a warm smile on her face.
'I'm good Karen, how are you?' I asked with a matching smile, missing the embrace of someone who used to be like my mother.
'I'm good darling, we miss you here,' she said with a sad smile as she let go of me.
'I miss you two,' I said honestly and she just kissed the top of my head before I just smiled once more and made my way outside to where my friends, and Shawn were all together.
'Sienna! You came!' a very drunk Aaliyah exclaimed when she saw me, pulling me into a tight hug which I readily embraced.
'I wouldn't miss it for the world,' I said, even though that was a straight lie, I had no intentions of coming to this until this morning but I did not want to ruin the girls night, turning eighteen is a momentous occasion in Australia.
'Here have this drink, you're probably going to need it when you have to talk to my brother,' she giggled and I just laughed in agreement with her.
'Thanks A, I'll talk to you later,' I said with a smile before I slowly made my way to my friends and Shawn, who I'm not sure what to classify as anymore.
