Mistletoe: Justin Bieber
'I don't want to miss out on the holiday, but I can't stop staring at your face.'
'I'm home Luke!' I called out, bustling through the front door with my work bags, and last-minute presents for tomorrow. Luke and I had offered to host both our families for Christmas lunch tomorrow, meaning we would be having over forty people in our backyard by 11 am tomorrow.
'In the kitchen babe!' he called back and I smiled as I stumbled into the kitchen where Luke was making gingerbread cookies for tomorrow, half of the mixture around his lips which made me giggle slightly when I saw him.
'You hungry?' I asked with a laugh and he just poked his tongue at me before placing the baking tray full of cookies in the oven. Our house was decorated beautifully for tomorrow, with silver, white, green, gold and red decorations in every room of the house, because after all, Christmas is my favourite time of the year.
'I've already ordered us some Indian food from our favourite place,' he said, obviously ignoring my remark about the batter on his face.
'Sorry I am so late, Vogue held me back and then I had to get some more presents for your mum and Ashton,' I said as I placed the presents down on the floor, knowing that I would be up until the early hours of the morning wrapping until my hands could not move anymore.
'That's okay baby, I understand,' Luke said with a smile before walking over to me and pulling me into a warm hug, the smell of coffee and gingerbread lingering on his t-shirt.
'I love you,' I said, looking up at him with a smile and he kissed the top of my head gently before the doorbell rang, meaning our dinner was here.
'I love you too,' he called out whilst running down the hallway, making me giggle before I grabbed some bowls and cutlery, setting us up in the main living room, where 'Love Actually,' was playing on TV.
'I can't believe we are hosting our first Christmas tomorrow,' I said before shovelling a piece of naan bread into my mouth. Hosting Christmas with your partner is a big step in any relationship, and this being our first major event we are hosting at our home, I was slightly nervous.
'Who would have thought when we first met six years ago, we would be hosting our first Christmas together almost six years later,' Luke said with a grin and I just shook my head.
'Not me, that's for sure.'
It was surreal to think that this time six years ago, my family and me had just moved to Sydney and I barely even knew Luke. Now, I would not dream of living anywhere else and I could not imagine being with anybody but Luke.
'Do you ever regret moving to Sydney?' Luke asked and I shook my head instantly.
'I wouldn't have had half the opportunities that I have had whilst living here. You guys would not be 5 Seconds of Summer, and I definitely would have not met you,' I said, smiling as he kissed my shoulder as we continued to finish the array of Indian curries that Luke had gotten us for dinner.
'God I didn't even think about that, I wonder what I would be doing if Ashton didn't move here?' Luke questioned, mainly to himself.
'You would definitely be a maths or science teacher or something,' I said and he nodded in agreement because that is what he went to Oxford for.
'I can't imagine being anything but a musician now, it's crazy how much has changed since high school,' Luke said softly and it was my turn to nod in agreement because I do not think any of us would have thought that we would ever be living a life like this.
I never would have thought that my brother, my boyfriend and their two best friends would be in a band with international success. I would never have thought that I would be poised to take my first job out of university at Vogue Magazine, although I suppose it helps when you have been interning there since your first year of university.
'I'm so proud of you Luke,' I blurted out, my cheeks going red from the sudden confession, even though he already knew. 'You have achieved so much and I know this is only the beginning for you and the guys.'
'You're too good to me Si, none of this would have been possible without you by my side.'
'Bullshit,' I laughed, knowing that I have not had a large role in his success, not that I cared obviously, because it shows that Luke has made it with his sheer talent. 'You have made it this far because you are ridiculously talented, you know that.'
'I know, but do you not remember that bus ride all those years ago, I can't even remember who's party we were going to but you really pushed us to start a band and we did. Yeah sure, before that we would write songs and play together as a joke, but you were the one who said we could seriously make it. It meant a lot for someone to take us seriously, because although none of the boys would admit it now, there was always the lingering thought in the back of all of our minds, that we could actually be something,' Luke rambled and I just smiled at him, because I really did not think that he would remember that bus ride, considering all of us were very, very drunk.
'My pleasure, I would not have it any other way,' I said simply before we began to finish our dinner, Luke offering to washup so I could finish wrapping the presents and decorating the living room, where we would be opening presents and having tea and coffee after the formal part of lunch was finished.
Time crept away from me, as before I knew it, it was midnight.
'Baby, come to bed, you can finish wrapping the presents in the morning,' Luke said softly, leaning against the open archway that leads to our main living room.
'I only have one present to go, it's Saff's,' I said referring to Jack and Celeste's first child, who was only two-years-old. Luke just chucked as I wrapped the Barbie doll in red and white polka dot wrapping paper, before placing a silver ribbon and small card on the front, placing it under the tree, meaning I was officially done.
'Now can you come to bed Si?' Luke asked and I nodded with a small laugh as I followed him up the stairs, Luke stopping abruptly, causing me to walk smack bang into his back.
'Luke, what the hell?'
'Look Sienna,' he said cocking his head up with a smile. 'Mistletoe,' he said with a smirk as I moved my head to look above us, Luke obviously having attached it to the light bulb when I was downstairs earlier.
'Gosh, I wonder who put that there?' I questioned sarcastically with a smirk that matched Luke's.
'I have absolutely no idea,' he said which made me giggle, 'But you know the rules, I think we have to kiss now.'
'Oh, do we really?' I said with a grin and before I knew it, Luke's lips were on mine, giving us the perfect start to what would be the perfect Christmas Day.
