Sam

"Smoke break?" A guard at the open door to the laundry room offered.

I glanced back at him and hung up the last t shirt, then stood up. I didn't answer, but followed nonetheless.

He led me downstairs, to the back of the compound, where most of the vehicles were.

"We'll have her down by the bikes."

Negan's words rang through my mind and I stopped behind the guard.

I rarely ever got to go outside. I didn't smoke much but when offered I usually smoked in the stairwell. The guard nudged me outside the back door, making my heart speed up.

He walked out after me and pulled a cigarette from his pocket. I took it and held it in my lips so he could light it for me. I muttered my Thank You, and stepped further into the concrete.

The man stood there for a few minutes, watching me until he stepped back inside the door, shutting it behind him.

Something was definitely going on now. I'd never be left unattended outside.

I sucked the cigarette down to a small butt and flicked it over the fence.

I went to move for the door until it burst open. I stood petrified seeing the tan jumpsuit.

"Daryl-"

"We gotta go." He rushed forward. "Come on." He wrapped his hand around mine pulling me to the bikes.

"Wait... What's going on?" I shook my head, digging my heels into the cement.

"Sam." He begged, tugging me further. "Please we have to go." He squeezed my hand, and turned to look at me.

"No Daryl something's up-" He let go of me to search the bikes for keys. He scrambled between them, as a door slammed open, guards pouring through them.

Daryl grabbed me and held me behind him as the guards surrounded us, holding their guns up.

My head fell hearing his taunting whistle. Negan sauntered into the ground smiling wide.

"Are we pissing our pants yet?" He released a big sigh. Daryl glared at him through his hair, and held me tightly behind him. "Who are you?" He pointed Lucille at some of his guards, all answering Negan. "See that, I'm everywhere. And this was your shot to prove to me who you're loyal to- which sucks cause your life was about to get so much cooler. Right Sunshine?" He smiled at me, earning a growl from Daryl. "You had options." Negan toyed, and told him what he could do for him.

I clung to Daryl's shirt, and let my eyes roam around the guards.

"There is no door number four. This is the only way." He purred.

Daryl continued to glare at him.

"Screw it." He let out a breathy laugh. He cocked back and swung his bat.

A shrill cry made its way from my lips. I couldn't do this again. I couldn't see him kill one more person I love.

The bat stopped inches from Daryl's head.

"Wow. You don't scare easy. I love that." He gushed. "But Lucille feels a little disrespected." He taunted, looking passed him, at me. "Lucky for you... She's not too thirsty today." He moved passed Daryl to snatch my arm from Daryl. "But I am." He grinned down at us. "So I'm gonna get me a drink."

He spun on his feet, taking me with him. I turned just enough to see Daryl throw a punch.

"Damn that dude is badass." Negan smiled down at me. "I see why you like him." He nodded. He led me back to his lounge where Frankie and Tanya were.
