That night we woke to screams.
"That's coming from Barrington house." I spoke, pulling my leggings on, followed by my boots. I ran out with my knife, not waiting for Daryl. The door was open and screams were flowing outside. "Jesus Christ." I began helping out downstairs with the ones who had turned.
"What the hell happened?" Daryl asked.
"Maybe walkers got in?"
"These are our people." I shook my head.
The Saviors covered their weapons in walker blood. They infected us.
I let Rick and Daryl find the others and update them. While I followed Maggie to clear the rest of the community.
I could see the pen the Saviors were in was open and empty.
"Shit." I breathed. "I'll get the others." I called, running back to the house. I jogged up the stairs, swinging the door open. "Saviors escaped!" I shouted, turning and letting them follow me. A group of them were trying to keep the gate shut, but there were plenty that were gone.
"Hey, you should sit down." Siddiq spoke as I drug one of the bodies.
"I'm fine-"
"You're pregnant." I heard Daryl and dropped the body, with a huff.
"Y-you're pregnant?" Siddiq asked. "Why wouldn't you say that?" He asked. "You need to stop the heavy lifting." He shook his head.
"I can still fight."
"Maybe, but in between you need to rest." Siddiq spoke. I looked at him the Daryl and sighed.
"I'm tired of being pregnant." I whined, leaning into Daryl.
"Oh yeah?" He grumbled.
"I mean I still want a baby, and I'm happy, but I hate not being able to do anything." I pouted.
"Wait 'til you're out here." He said, motioning to my belly.
"I wanna play with the big kids." I pouted my lip, making him laugh.
"Nap time." He pointed to the trailers. I spun and moved toward the trailer. I couldn't deny that I needed a nap. "Aye, hold up." Daryl caught up with me. "Me n' Rosita're gonna go out there. Get Eugene, he's runnin' an outpost."
I let out a huff.
"Okay, well be safe... Love you." I pressed a hard kiss to his lips, sighing into them.
"I'll be back. Don't worry." He left a kiss to my head, pushing me toward the trailers.
I did get to nap, but Daryl returned later in the day. He walked into the trailer with a bowl in his hands.
"M'back." He said, kicking the door shut.
"How'd it go? Did you get him?" I sat up, accepting the bowl.
"Nah, he got away." He sighed. "Gregory's back... He brought a map, says where the Saviors'll be tomorrow."
I let out a huff.
"This is the end." I let out a small smile, looking down at my soup.
"I'll catch you up tomorrow. Let's gets some sleep." He kicked his boots off.
The next morning Daryl caught me up on the plan, Daryl and Rick were to go out with the first group and I'd stay back with Maggie. But after they left, they radioed telling us the plan had changed, so we met with the first group on a ridge.
"Hey." I kept my gun high, as I moved around Daryl.
"Stay back baby." Daryl shook his head, keeping me behind him.
