Part of me thought that Daryl's proposal was all a rouse to get me to go with him, but he let me go.

I went with them to Alexandria, to take a few medical books with me.

"You leavin' in the morning?" Daryl grumbled, holding me next to him.

"I am." I nodded. "I can help them with my experience. And I'm taking some books, and you'll be there soon. So you can bring me the Sanctuary's ultrasound machine." I told him. "Yeah?"

"Yeah." He nodded.

I left with tears in my eyes, but a task at heart. Oceanside needed the help anyway, more than the rest.

Cyndie welcomed me with open arms.

"You know if you have a boy it'll be the first boy here since..." Cyndie smiled at me.

"That's right." I chuckled. We were cleaning out a trailer, to turn into an infirmary. It'd been several weeks and I was beginning to show, a small belly. I was studying the textbooks everyday and could probably write out a whole delivery, but that was only on paper. I had also began teaching Jules what I knew.

She wasn't as comfortable with the delivery part, but she was getting there.

The first time she'd attempted a cervical exam her face was cringed the entire time.

"Does this hurt?" She questioned.

"No." I sighed. "Does it feel normal?" I asked, getting annoyed.

"What does normal feel like?"

"Does it feel like yours?"

"Ummm..."

"Nevermind, just stop. Just look does everything look normal?" I asked.

"Yes, you look great." She nodded, making me laugh.

"Okay, we aren't doing this again." I sighed, putting my legs down. She pulled the gloves off and threw them away.

"You realize you're gonna have to deliver this baby, right?" I asked, catching her eye.

"I know, Sam. I promise I can do it." She nodded.

I nodded.

Daryl should be coming today, with the Sanctuary's ultrasound machine, so I cleared out a spot for it in the infirmary.

I sighed, twisting my small ring over my finger.

We hadn't been able to talk a lot, until lately, Eugene got some lang range walkies working and brought one for us, but even then, he was busy a lot of the time.

But when I heard the roar of his engine I could feel my heart flutter in my chest, maybe this was good for us.

I walked out of the medical trailer and looked around under the shade, until his bike rounded the corner.

My cheeks were already beginning to hurt at my large smile.

I walked forward, as his bike turned off.

"Hi." I breathed, letting him get off his bike before lifting my hands to his shoulders.

He looked around at the girls looking at us. It wasn't everyday a man rode in on a bike. It was more common now that Oceanside was involved with the other communities though.

"Hey." He spoke quietly, looking me up, planting his hand on my hip. I could see him hesitate as he felt my stomach protruding more than usual. "You good? Y'alright here?"

"I am. How are you? How are... Things?" I looked up at him, running my finger over the white in his beard.

"Tough." He answered after a moment.
