I could tell the damage of the... of the massacre. Mental and physical. I caught a graze to my side so I was no help while the others saved Maggie and Carol, but I could tell the damage. I could see it.
The weeks that ensued were calm, they were... nice actually.
I made a small lunch for mean and Daryl before he took watch.
I went to grab him from the porch and saw he and Carol talking.
I opened the door and cleared my throat.
"I told you those things aren't good for conception." I raised my eyebrows catching him toss his cigarette.
"Sorry." He muttered, raising his hands in surrender.
I rolled my eyes, sitting next to him.
"I am." He chuckled. "I'm sorry." He tugged me into his side. "Love you." He kissed my temple.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Yeah." He nodded.
"Show me?" I wet my lips.
"Now?"
"Now." I nodded, helping him up the stairs. He glanced at the food I made and laughed.
"No lunch?"
"No lunch." I tugged him down to our room, shutting it behind us.
It was like that for a while but there weren't results-well not instant anyway.
"I'm gon' take Rosita and Denise out to some 'pothcary." Daryl said.
I finished bandaging my graze, it was mostly healed by then.
"Denise is going out there?" I asked.
"She wants ta'." He shrugged
"Hm, okay..." I stood and wrapped my arms around his shoulders. "Love you?"
"Yeah, love you."
"Come back, okay?" I asked, watching him smile at me.
"Always." He nodded, and I watched him leave.
That was just the beginning... of a brand new war. Denise was killed by another one of those men- actually... the man that took Daryl's bike. And of course... it went downhill from there.
We all found ourselves exhausted, kneeling... and terrified.
That's when we met Negan.
"You are quite a catch out here... aren't you?" He laughed, sliding his bat over my cheek.
I heard grunting from where Daryl was.
"Don't." I whimpered, knowing they'd kill him if he tried something.
"Oh I couldn't hurt a pretty little number like you."
Then he began to count.
Eenie, Meenie, Minie, Moe...
It would've been just Abraham, but Daryl...
The look on Maggie's face. It was like her soul left her body. I know mine would've .
"You... I think I want." Negan offered his hand. My lip quivered and I spat at him, that was the last I'd remembered.
I woke up in a cell. Well it was more of a broom closet with a lock on it, and of course I was stripped naked.
I didn't know how long I was in there before I was let out.
"Hi darlin'..." Negan's figure was tall and lean. "I'm Negan if you didn't know." He smirked.
"Please let me go." I panted, holding my arms over my chest.
"What a waste that would be." He huffed. "I've got a proposition for you." He smiled.
He let me shower and gave me sweats to change into, with a guard of course.
"What do you want with me?" I grumbled, looking down at the table in front of me.
"Oh, you aren't special honey." He chuckled.
"We got your friend Daryl here too." Dwight, the one who took Daryl's things in the burnt forest spoke.
I kept my mouth shut, watching them. I didn't want them to see my emotions escape and use them against me. Use him against me.
"Where is he?" I breathed.
"You know I've never seen a man cry... the way he did when you hit the ground." Negan stood from his seat. Dwight looked confused, but said nothing. "He's your Honey bear? You're boo boo? Your love muffin."
My eyes watered with rage.
"Where is he? What are you doing with him?" I held back my cry.
"Dwight... go make sure he isn't dead yet? Would you?" Negan kept his eyes on me.
After Dwight left us Negan brought his hands to the table. "Now that proposition..." He smirked. "I've got a few ladies you'd really love... they are my wives."
I couldn't even believe his words. He was delusional.
"I won't hurt Daryl." He tilted his head. "I won't lay a finger on that precious little head of his- hell I won't even look at him sideways if... you become my wife."
"Your wife." I spat.
"Yeah... just do your wifely duties..." He smacked the table. "Bring me a drink, satisfy my needs .. and look pretty." He shrugged.
I held my breath.
"You're delusional." I huffed. "You may have the people and the ammo... and the ego." I smiled. "But you won't win." I shook my head. "I promise."
"God you are smoking." He laughed. "Think about my offer." He nodded, leaving me in the room with the large table.
I looked over the large window seeing their lot around the compound. It was huge. I don't think we've actually come across a settlement so large... until now.
