I woke up thinking about Ben. Oh my god I haven't seen him in who knows how long! He must be so confused on why he can't leave or see me and what about my little un born sister is she ok? My mom? My dad? I soon began to cry at the though of my family that I couldn't see. 'Its too dangerous' they say but I don't want to believe that.
Layla is still asleep and honestly it seems like she's always distant. I look over to Steven who is also asleep and sigh leaning back into my chair. I finally couldn't stand the constant beeping of Stevens heart monitor.I peeked my head out of the room to see and extremely messy station. There are people everywhere with papers answering calls even doctors who were probably Stevens. The sherif told me yesterday that this was there top priority and now I can see that. I made my way to the sheriffs office and got very sympathetic smiles from most of the people i passed. Lately I couldn't stop thinking about Tess and how we never had a funeral. She deserves one but I know it's going to be to dangerous to try and have a ceremony.
I entered the sheriffs office to find him reading a paper with a pen in hand. "Alex!" He said excitedly greeting me. I felt like he was one of the only people I could trust u felt safe and comfortable around him. I plopped down on a chair in the room. "Hey Don" I said revering to his first name. He smiled early at me and reached behind his desk pulling out three large boxes. "People donated many things to you guys things that we can't get from your homes" he said handing me a box that said my name across the top. I placed it on my lap feeling how extremely heavy it was jeez. "There's clothes books toiletry items everything you will need" he said need for what? "Um what will we need these for?" I asked puzzled.
"Oh I must have forgotten to tell you, they lost James's signal and can't seem to find him and we think the safest thing for you three is to find a remote area to keep you in for the time being" he said my booth dropped open in shock again? I feel like were always on the run. I nodded and we continued to talk about the case and James. "Hey Don can we have a funeral for Tess?" I asked remembering my earlier thoughts. "A funeral? Oh heavens no we couldn't possibly-" he cut him self off see the hurt in my eyes. "Sorry it's just not safe I promise when this all settles down I will arrange a funeral myself" he said proudly. I nodded and he grabbed the other two boxes bringing them back to the room where Steven and Layla were.
When we got back Layla and Steven were both awake and we explained that we were leaving in two or three days and then the sherif brought in three suit cases in case we wanted to pack.
And that's when we got the phone call.
