The door flew off the truck fire and all and was coming Right for me. I shrieked in terror and rolled to the side as it slammed into the sand where I just was. I shuddered at the though of that hitting me. My head was a throbbing mess there was blood soaking my cloths and skin and there were still pieces of glass everywhere. My body was bruised and sore . "Alex!" I heard Steven yell. "Alex!" I hear again. "Over here!" I hear Layla shriek and soon Steven and Layla were limping towards me laying in the sand. "Ben" I mumble, what? That's not what I wanted to say. I was so disoriented I could barely say or see anything and moving was a completely different obstacle.
Steven collapsed into the sand next to me and pulled me into his muscular arms. "Can you hear me?" H asked worriedly. "Mmhhhmmm" I answered not able to say anything else. I thought about Stevens huh shot wound which was obviously better if he was walking. The doctors insisted that he had to be in the wheel chair so the stitches could heal and he wouldn't strain himself even though he could walk. It must be even better than I thought because soon I am being carried by a running Steven. Layla runs beside him and at first I could find it in me to know why but that's when the ringing in my ears turned into screeching. Gun shots. I had hard them to many times to not know them now and that was defiantly what I was hearing.
There was no where to hide it was all open desert from here and I didn't know how much longer we could keep this up. Don was dead, the memory of his frail body soaking in blood reminded me of that. I couldn't believe everyone I grew to trust was dying Tess now don I have seen to many dead bodies in a month then I'm sure most people have seen in a lifetime and that to me was frightening.
I turned my head to see three men running at us holding defiantly military supplied guns. How on earth was James getting his hands on these? "Milwiary" I mumbled trying to say military but that obviously wasn't going to happen. "Hold tight Alex" he said it took me a minute to process what he was saying but soon he was running faster than he was before and Layla was right next to him running the same speed he zig zagged across the land dogging the bullets.
I knew we would get tired I knew they would catch up but there was no way someone could be prepared for that not in a million years. Once they got us they placed guns to our heads them forced me to walk but in reality I was just being dragged across the cold sand by Steven. Layla was sobbing next to me and I couldn't find it in me to shed a tear I had done enough crying and I wasn't ready to show weakness not yet.
Passing the van was tough I tried not to think of Don I did everything in my power to not think of Don. There was another van much like ours but raven black. It was pretty big and it seemed like an hour walk to get there. Once we got inside I was panting and groaning in extreme pain. I was surprised Layla wasn't as banged up or even Steven. They shoved us into the back of the van which was equivalent to an aluminum box. They slammed and locked the back doors and soon the van was moving.
I have been kidnapped two times. I was still in shock from the car crash I couldn't even move. Layla was still crying and Steven was looking at me worriedly as I laid in his lap. He ran his fingers through my hair and rubbed my back it was comforting but even with that I still didn't feel the slightest bit safe.
I was kidnapped two times.
