Tom turned around to face us and instantly smiled when he noticed who his brother was talking about.
He uttered some quick words to the friend he was talking to and scooted around the edge of the counter coming towards us.
"Rhylee hey!" He greeted me with a kiss on my cheek and a light hug. Again, he smelled divine.
"Thanks for inviting me" I smiled.
"I brought a gift" bringing the bag to his attention and giving it to him.
"Oh nice, that's great" He said while pulling the whiskey from to bag.
"Can I make you a drink?"
"Yeah sure" I said placing my handbag on the island bench and shrugging out of my coat.
"Hi, I'm Jacob" He smiled and outstretched his hand to me.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Rhylee" I shook his hand. He was dressed in black jeans, a black shirt and a killer burgundy suede jacket.
"Thats a dope jacket" I said nodding my head to him.
"See, at least someone has good taste in fashion" Jacob said while giving Tom the side eye.
Tom smirked and turned to me.
"What'll you have to drink?"
"Something strong" I replied cocking an eyebrow to him.
"Coming right up" He said grabbing a plastic cup and adding some ice. He pulled out an already opened bottle of whiskey and began pouring, he looked up at me with a questioning look I raised my fingers and told him to keep pouring.
I could handle my alcohol, but I needed a strong drink to help settle the butterflies fluttering around my stomach whenever he look at me.
"Alright then" Tom spoke with a light tone. He added some coke to the drink and handed it too me.
I took a long sip, the alcohol lighting a warm fire down my throat and into my stomach.
"Any good?" Tom asked.
"Perfect" I said taking another taste of the drink.
I took a seat at the bench on one of the bar stools as Tom, Jacob and I got to chatting. I recognised Jacob when I first arrived but wasn't sure if I should tell him or not.
"I loved your role in Spiderman, Ned is so relatable and funny" I gushed a little dork like.
"I appreciate that, that's kind of you" He replied with a wide smile.
"Um, would you mind showing me to the bathroom?" I directed my question to Tom.
"Sure, come with me" Tom said. I followed him from the kitchen and up the stair case, my heels clacking loudly with each step.
We reached the top of the stairs and Tom pointed me towards one of the closed doors. As I reached for the handle Tom took my hand in his turning my body towards him.
"You look incredible" He spoke softly while rubbing his thumb across the back of my hand.
"You're sweet, thankyou" I said looking up at him. Our bodies were so close, I could just feel his chest rise and fall against my own. The booze I had drank was giving me liquid courage.
Tom was still holding one hand and with the other I slowly reached up with the other and brushed a few strands of his hair back from his darks eyes.
"You're kind of beautiful you know?" I whispered. It was the truth, he was a gorgeous man.
"I think you're beautiful too" He said with a shy smile. A warm hand was placed on my hip, his fingers splayed out wide. The feel of his hands on me sent crackles of energy through my body.
Slowly, and ever so slightly he leaned towards me ducking his head down. I was almost certain he was going to kiss me. My heart rate quickened and my breathing got all shaky.
He was so close I could almost taste the whiskey on his breath.
A shattering sound from downstairs killed the moment as Tom whipped his head around to where the sound came from.
"fuck.." he muttered under his breath.
"Uh I should see whats going on" He said looking at me with a hint of disappointment on his face.
"Okay, see you soon" I said turning away and locking myself in the bathroom.
I placed my hands on either side of the sink and looked at myself in the mirror. My cheeks were flushed but I wasn't sure if that was from the booze or the fact that Tom almost kissed me.
I wasn't sure how to feel. I mean obviously being kissed by an attractive guy was usually a good thing, if both people wanted it to happen.
But I still felt like I didn't know him very well and I wasn't the type to hook up randomly.
I washed my hands in the sink and pressed my hands to the sides of my neck trying to cool myself down. As I went back downstairs there was a girl coming up them who was about my age.
She noticed me and introduced herself as Stacey, a friend of Toms from school. She told me to come find her afterwards and we could talk some more.
In the kitchen was another group of younger looking kids and Harry and Sam were chatting away. I waved hello to them and made myself a drink.
It didn't take me long to finish it and I poured a third. I felt a bit awkward hanging around in the kitchen not really talking to anyone. I looked around wondering if I could see or hear Jacob, Tom or Stacey. On the far side of the kitchen was a glass sliding door that lead out to a small patio and I could see a patch of grass.
I let myself out and was greeted by the loud music and chilly night air.
Hung up outside between trees on either side of the yard were multi-coloured lights and under the cover on the patio were two huge looking speakers. There was a laptop connected to the speakers that was playing the music.
To my right was a small tiled area where a few people were dancing, two people were making out as if no one was watching and one poor guy was trying his hardest to dance in time but failed miserably.
Further towards the back fence were some comfy looking lawn chairs seat up where I could see Tom & Jacob.
Jacob waved me over and I walked towards where they were sitting. I almost fell on my ass twice in these stupid heels on the grass so I took them off and carried them the rest of the way.
