After celebrating the new year, and nursing an epic hangover, we got back into our usual routine of work, dates, sleepovers and seeing each other's friends and Tom's family. Tom also had several meetings and video conferences about upcoming movie opportunities.
January was the coldest month so far and all of our outings included thick winter coats and many layers. Tom and I had visited several car dealerships over the last weekend of the month and soon, I would have my own vehicle. Walking and taking public transport in the cold winter conditions was wearing thin and I couldn't wait to be driving again.
The buzz from our relationship going public had seemingly calmed down, many people accepting that their celebrity crush was now off the market, they moved on with their lives while still adoring him. I had grown to enjoy the interactions with his fans online, and found myself posting more on social media. Posting snippets of my life, and sometimes Tom, seemed to intrigue his fanbase which skyrocketed the number of followers I had.
Most of the people who followed and interacted with me were welcoming and appreciative of the insight to our lives, there were the odd few who still had horrible things to say. Instead of biting back with my quick temper, I tried to remind everyone to not put other people down, but to spread love and kindness. Hoping that my attitude towards hate would encourage others to take the high road. It seemed to be working in our favour as the comment sections across my socials turned from a place of hostility to something more wholesome and positive.
February was upon us quickly, and Tom and I were off to pick up my new baby today. With Tom's help, I managed to find a dealership that had a suitable finance program and low interest rates. When we visited the shop, we strolled up and down the rows of cars discussing pros and cons of the vehicles I was interested in.
The salesman helped draw up payment plans for each of the vehicles that I was most drawn too, which helped narrow down my decision. I had been squirreling away every spare dollar so that I would be able to afford a near new car that would be something I could travel in and would have plenty of space.
Tom picked me up this morning to take me to the dealership to get the keys for my new car. I had just finished dressing myself in simple jeans, boots and a thick jumper combo when I heard the door knocking. Grabbing my bag and phone I jumped up from the couch to answer the door.
He was stood, wearing a knitted beanie, dark jeans and a mustard coloured hoodie. He greeted me with a warm kiss before I turned back to call out a goodbye to Archie while locking the door. We strolled down the short path, as he unlocked the car, pulling the door open for me. I slid into the plush leather seat as he walked around the front of the vehicle, joining me inside moments later.
The engine growled in response to the keys being turned.
"Let's go get you a car baby" He said, turning to me with a cheeky grin. He'd taken a liking to calling me baby, and the word rolled off his tongue so deliciously.
"I'm so excitiedddd" I said in a sing song tone, dancing in my seat momentarily, earning a hearty laugh from him. I was incharge of music for our journey which would take us roughly an hour. We chatted away between ourselves as Tom directed us to the car sales company.
As we pulled into the car park, my knees were bouncing in anticipation. I double checked my wallet for my new driver's license. The photo was hilarious, I had the worst resting bitch face as the photo snapped too quickly for me to arrange my expression more softly. Tom parked up and killed the engine, we exited the warmth and were met with a blast of cold air. I shivered slightly at the change in temperature as I walked towards the building entrance, Tom's hand in mine.
A woman greeted us at the front desk with a large smile.
"Hi, how can I help you?" She spoke, addressing Tom first.
