Chapter 49

The time passed so quickly as we sat around catching up with Tom. I quickly checked the time of my phone and realised it was almost 6pm. I knew I'd have to get going soon so I could give Archie his dinner and let him outside.

I helped Tom take the mugs we'd used back to the kitchen.

"I'll probably have to get going soon" I said. I didn't want to go just yet but I knew Archie needed me.

"What if we went and picked him up and you could stay here tonight?" Tom turned to me, pulling me into a hug. He's been so affectionate since I arrived. I think he really missed me.

"Only if you're okay with that, I've got work in the morning" I said, running my hands up and down his back.

"I'd love that, and I can take you to work babe" He said and I felt him squeeze me tighter before letting go. Toms family were getting their coats and putting their shoes on as we rejoined them in the living room.

"We're going to get going now" Nikki said as she wrapped her scarf around her neck to keep out the cold. Dominic pulled Tom onto a quick hug, clapping him on the back and telling him it was nice to have him home.

Harry and Sam bumped their fists against Toms and Paddy gave him a hug. Nikki approached me and gave me a hug too.

"It was great to see you" She said with a smile.

"You too, we should grab a coffee one afternoon" I said to her. I hadn't spent much time with Toms parents yet and I wanted to get to know then more.

"That'd be lovely, let me know when you're free" Nikki spoke softly.

We said our goodbyes and Toms family left us for the night. After the front door had closed, Tom grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards him. Planting his lips firmly against mine suddenly. I felt like I melted into a puddle as he kissed me eagerly.

His hands has made their way down to the top of my butt, where he squeezed slightly. I snaked one arm around his neck tangling my fingers in the dark wavy locks at the back of his neck.

My other hand was clutching his shirt in my hand, underneath the material I could feel his heart hammering away. We stayed this way for awhile, taking each other in, not wanting this moment to stop.

Tom reluctantly pulled away from me. And I all but whined at the sudden halt of his lips against mine, which made him smirk.

"Cmon, lets get Archie then we can make dinner" Tom said smacking me on the bum lightly as let go of my waist, heading towards the door.

I fed Archie his dinner and then dashed up the stairs to get some clothes together for tonight and work tomorrow.

Tom made himself comfortable on my bed, leaning his back against the headboard. His arms were crossed behind his head, which lead to his shirt riding up exposing just an inch or so of skin across his waist.

He was laying there so nonchalantly looking like a greek god and all I could think about was pouncing on him. I disappeared into my wardrobe to pick an outfit for work, while also have a conversation with myself about trying to keep it in my pants till we'd at least had dinner.

I grabbed a pair of white paper bag waist trousers, a chiffon white blouse and some white laser cut espadrilles and put them into the over night bag on the bed.

"Could you pass me the pj's under that pillow please" I said to Tom pointing to my side of the bed. He quickly obliged and I packed those into the bag too.

I grabbed some underwear and a nude bra and stuffed them in with everything else, as well as my small makeup bag.

"All done?" He asked me as I zipped the bag closed.

"Yup, I think I've got everything" I said, he looped his arm through the handles and lifted it off the bed for me.

"Lets get some food" Tom said before pressing a kiss to my temple, his hand reaching for mine automatically.

Back downstairs, I had switched on the dishwasher, turned off the lights and gotten Archies lead ready. I locked the door behind us all as we walked back down the path to Toms car. His free hand pulled the keys from his pocket and the car beeped in response as he pushed a button.

He placed my bag inside the boot of the car and I got Archie into the back seat. Tom and I took our places in the front, the engine idled with a low rumble before we took off.

We hadn't been driving for long before we approach the closest Tesco's.

"I'll run in and get some stuff if you're okay to wait here?" I said to Tom, grabbed my purse from the footwell.

"Yeah of course, but here take my card" He said before fishing his wallet out of the centre console.

"Thats okay, I can get it" I said, leaning over the console to give him a quick kiss before exiting the car.

I was in and out of the shop in under ten minutes, I carried the bags back to the car and Tom hopped out to open up the boot for me.

We were back on the road again and arrived back to Toms house shortly after that. We hopped out of the car and I let Archie out of the back as Tom handed me my overnight bag. He pulled the bags of groceries from the boot and shut it, locking the car too.

Heading towards the front door we could hear Tessa's excited howls on the other side. Archie was barking happily back at her.

Tom slid the key into the lock and barely had the door open before Tessa came charging outside towards Archie.

The dogs greeted each other with kisses and happy little howls before the games began and they were racing around our legs. Tom and I managed to get inside without falling over the pups and he tapped the door shut with his foot as both hands were full.

Making our way to the kitchen, Tom set the bags on the counter and I put my bag on the stool. I grabbed a hair tie from my makeup bag and scooped my hair up into a high ponytail to get it out of my face.

"I love when you wear your hair like that" Tom said from across the island bench where he'd started unpacking.

"Oh really?" I smirked at him.

"Mhmm, youlookreallysexy" He said in one fast sentence. His compliment made me laugh lightly with a smile on my face.

"You're really cute, do you know that?" I asked as I joined him in unpacking.

"I've been told once or twice" He said with a cheeky grin. We finished unloading everything as we bantered back and forth, with some shameless flirting thrown in there.
