Chapter 63

"Rhylee?" I could hear my name being called out. I stirred slightly at the sound.

"Rhylee, wake up babe" The voice became more clear now and it was Tom waking me up. My eyes opened as I blinked a few times, readjusting to the light. I looked up to see Toms smiling down at me sweetly.

"Hi" He spoke softly.

"Hey" I croaked back, my throat feeling dry.

"Please tell me I didn't snore" I followed, feeling embarrassed.

"Only a little bit" Tom replied, rubbing his hand up and down my arm. I groaned in embarrassment and rolled into his side more. Feeling the vibrations of his laughter against my cheek the was pressed to his chest.

"Mum wanted us to know that dinner will be ready soon" He spoke softly, resting his cheek against the top of my head.

"Oh awesome, I'll go see if they need any help" I replied as I slowly peeled away from him and his warmth.

I stretched out the kinks in my back from being curled up on the couch. I turned back to Tom and grabbed his hand pulling him with me.

We walked hand in hand towards the kitchen where our sense of smell was filled with all sorts of things being cooked. Sam was over the hob stirring some sauce and Nikki was gathering plates and cutlery, setting them on the countertop.

"Heya, do you need any help?" Tom asked, peeking into the oven.

"Could you two please set the table and maybe see who wants a drink?" Nikki replied as I was rubbing the ache behind my temple.

I carried the cutlery while Tom balanced the plates. He placed a plate in each open setting at the table and I followed with the cutlery.

"I'll go find Paddy and Harry, Dads working in the study, could you ask if he'd like a drink?" Tom asked me after we'd finished with the table.

"Yeah sure" I replied with a smile as I headed off to find Dominic. Up the hallway and to the right was the study, I gently tapped my knuckles on the door frame as Dom looked up from his computer.

"Rhylee, what can I do for you?" He asked, pulling the laptop lid down to look up at me.

"Nikki wanted me to check if you'd like a drink with dinner, it'll be ready soon" I replied to him.

"Excellent, I'd like a glass of red please and I'll be out in a few minutes" Dom told me, placing his glasses back on the bridge of his nose.

"No worries" I replied with a smile as I headed back towards the kitchen.

Tom and I worked around what Nikki and Sam were doing as we grabbed drinks for everyone. I set Dom's wine glass on the counter with the other array of beverages. I was feeling a headache come on so I decided to stick to a glass of juice like Paddy.

Sam took over from Nikki as he brought all the food together. It looked and smelled incredible, there was a range of roasted vegetables, Yorkshire puddings, two types of meat and several sauces to accompany the meal. Without hesitation, we all began taking stuff  to the dining table, eager to get started. Dominic grabbed the last dish off the counter and joined us at the table.
Silver Christmas crackers were placed on top of the plates as we found our seats. I was smiling from ear to ear as we took our places.
