THE smoke from Terminus was still hitting the group. The fire still burning through the woods. The farther they got from Terminus, the more the air smelled fresh. The group stopped here or there, taking breaks.

"You know, since Mom and Dad weren't there, maybe they're somewhere else." Ryan spoke up, cleaning his gun. Meadow shook her head, "Ryan, they clearly don't want to be found." "You don't know that, they coul-" Meadow cut him off, "They could've nothing. They left us with a dying man!" She yelled, everyone looked a them, "They abandoned us! They don't care, they never cared. They cared about their notes." Meadow yelled. Ryan's face fell, tears filled his eyes, "Mi, you don't know-" "No, Ryan, I do know that. I am here with you, they are not!" Meadow shook her head, standing up, "Whoever needs their bottles filled, hand them over." She said looking at the rest of the group, "I'll go with." Carl spoke up, everyone handed the teenagers their water bottles.

Meadow put the plastic water bottles and metal canteens into her cloth satchel. She walked, not waiting for Carl, shaking her head, she balled her dirty hands into a fist.

Meadow has been getting angry easily, lately. Her body changing, everything hurting. After all this time, she's going through puberty, alone. Her emotions had been completely ruthless.

Carl's shoes hit harsly against the leaves and dirt, "Meadow, wait up." She slowed down, calming herself, "What? You know where the stream is." She said, exhaling. "At least walk with me and talk." He said, finally catching up with her, "You know," Carl started, looking at the ground, "You don't have to be so rough on Ryan, he's trying. He has hope."

"He is stupid for having hope. Especially now." Meadow whispered, her words were harsh but that is what she genuinely believed. "Ryan could've died, you do get that, right?" "But he didn't." Meadow said, looking straight ahead. "Still," Carl cleared his throat, "Your parents are gone, he's family. Besides Carol, of course." "You don't get it." Meadow spat. Carl scoffed, "Yes, I do."

"How, huh? Your sister is alive, your dad is alive-" "My mom isn't." Carl stopped, walking. "My dad almost died, you were there for that and my sister? I thought she was dead also. I would've been alone. What's your deal lately?" "Don't worry about it." Meadow clenched her jaw, she continued walking, Carl reached for her arm, he grabbed it and she whipped around, "Don't touch me." "What are you gonna do, Meadow? You gonna hit me? Maybe kill me?" Her lip quivered, her shoulders fell limp, "Let go of me, now." She whispered, her voice cracking.

"Talk to me then." Carl let go of her arm, sher sniffled, wiping the tear the danced down her dirty face, "I'm going through something," Meadow paused, she rubbed her upper arm with her other hand, nervously. "Something girls usually go through." Her words getting quieter, "Huh?" Carl raised an eyebrow, he genuinely had no clue what she was talking about. "The thing." "What thing?"

"N-Nevermind." Meadow swallowed, thickly, "Let's go to the stream." She turned back around, the rest of the trip to and back from the stream was utter silence, not even a cough was shared between the two of them.

10:33 PM

Meadow had her back pressed against the tree, she watched the fire. Ryan sat far away from her. Her eyes getting heavier as she watched the fire, she felt as if she were being watched. Her heart racing, she stood up. She did not want to have another incident. She felt her heart racing, those who were awake watched her, feeling what she felt also. Daryl stood up also, Carol joined them. "Someone is watching us, I feel it." Daryl spoke up, the three of them looked around the camp, it was too dark to see anything.
