Meadow Fletcher's POV

I sat around the bodies. My hands were bloody, my clothes. I looked at them. The Saviors who tried killing me laid there. Carl put his hand on my back and I shook my head. We turned around when we heard footsteps. Michonne, a bunch of Alexandrians, Maggie, Hilltop, Oceanside. We looked at them confused, "The bridge!" I got up, running with them through the woods. We made it to a clearing in the woods, the bridge in perfect view. Rick was standing at the end of it, he was clearly hurt, a huge herd of walkers walked towards him. Carl's eye widened, him and Michonne took off and I followed them.

"Rick!" Michonne yelled, running towards the walkers. "Dad!" Carl yelled, Rick waved his hand in the air, shaking his head. We ran towards the road of walkers.

A huge explosion emitted into the air. Carl stopped in his tracks, looking as the fire rose in the air. Maggie and Carol held Michonne back. Carl continued walking towards the road, I stood in front of him, "Carl, wait." I said. Carl shook his head, his eye blinking rapidly. "Carl, I'm here. I'm here." He kept shaking his head. My arms wrapped around him and he fell to his knees, I fell with him, "I'm here." A sob fell out of his mouth. I heard Michonne wailing behind me. I kept my composure. I sniffled here or there. That was it.

I knew now that I had to be there for Carl and for everyone. No more running away, no more leaving. I had to fight. I had to grow up and stop thinking about myself. I need to.

I have to.
