James Household (aka Katya's house)
Chloe
"Thanks for inviting me over today, Katya," I smiled gratefully at her as I took yet another sip of my orange-carrot mock-tail thingy, "I really needed some girl time."
"How many times have I told you? It's no problem at all!" Katya was sat on one of the beach chairs that was placed strategically around her indoor pool, an overlarge sun hat over her head as she shielded her eyes from the rays coming in from the skylight.
Mikaela was a little ways away from the two of us, too damn jittery and jumpy to be able to stay still in one place for long. She and Alex were going out for a movie later that evening, and even though both Katya and I were here to help her get ready and make sure everything was perfect, she was still fretting around about this and that.
"Oi you! Stop pacing! You're stressing me out!" Katya shouted at Mikaela, sitting up and launching an ice cube at the blonde girl. The bit of ice hit her right in the back, and she tensed up at the sensation of frozen water sliding down her skin.
"I can't help it! I'm trying to relax but it isn't working!" Mikaela tugged at her hair and groaned, shuffling over to us and plopping down on the chair beside mine. "I just can't get it out of my head!"
"I'm about to take off your head, so just sit down, shut up and let's listen to Chloe's problems instead." Katya turned to me and grinned wickedly, rubbing her hands together and cackling beneath her breath.
I turned to Mikaela for help but she too had a similar expression on her face, and I knew that I was doomed. I sighed loudly, taking another drag of my drink before setting it down, sitting a little straighter as I prepared myself mentally.
"Ooh ooh! Tell us what's been going on with you and Dante!" Mikaela exclaimed, and I could see her gears turning as she began formulating my love story in her head.
She had always been pretty overdramatic and a hopeless romantic to boot, never getting any proper boyfriends as she was quite satisfied with her imaginary ones. Katya was the complete opposite, catching herself a fair share of 'boy-toys' as she called them. The two of them were each other's antithesis, but yet they still managed to be the best of friends. It was a talent, really.
"He's super sweet, and he makes me feel really happy," my thoughts drifted over to Dante's happy face, and I could feel warmth spreading through to my entire body. Dante lit me up, and it was getting to the point that being without him made me sad.
Was it a crush? I wasn't quite sure.
Another face popped up in my mind, and the image of a smirk was imprinted behind my eyelids even as I shook my head to rid myself of it. I didn't know what it was about Riley, but I couldn't stop thinking about him. Maybe it was that kiss, maybe it was just a physical attraction, I had to admit he was pretty darn fine on the eyes...
"Mikaela told me that Riley kissed you that day after art," I spun around to look at her and glared, ignoring her sheepish expression, "so what's up with that?"
"There is nothing 'up', it was just a kiss-"
"But it was your first kiss Chlo!"
"It didn't mean anything!"
