"It's scary, but only you can decide what's good to be alive.""James," Kota breathed out a note of relief in his tone. "Oh god."
James thought that it was better she was ending ties with the boys. It was going to happen sooner or later. You don't mean that. You long for there touches, smiles.
Her heart still hurt but she should have known better. James never gets a happy ending. She understood that the boys had their secrets, she had her own too but she couldn't handle getting into there's and dealing with her own. It was too much. James could barely take care of herself let alone worry about other people. No matter how much she wanted to turn around and forgive the boys she couldn't. They were getting to close to fast and James found she was so willing to trust them. People she met just a few days ago. How can she trust them when she can't trust her self?
But here was Kota making her heartbreak slightly, he looked so sad. His hair was a mess like he had been running his hands through it. His clothes were slightly rumpled, a frown on his handsome face. Making him look older. It hurt her heart that she caused all this pain.
"Not god," James jokes cringing at herself. God, why couldn't she just move- leave? Because your glad he came after you.
Kota cracked a smile but his eyes were still dimmed.
"How'd you find me?" She asked walking over to the swing and taking a seat. Kota followed her lead sitting in the one next to her.
Kota gave her a pained look, "Do you really think we don't pay attention?" He asked, "you came here last time you were hurting, I don't know why but it's important to you."
James looked down a tear falling into her lap, she used her hair to hide her face. She didn't understand. "But why come after me? What do you get out of it?" And how did they know her so well? God, they could pinpoint things about her without even trying.
She tried so hard to hide but it seemed like at every turn they were cracking her open.
"What do you mean? We're friends James do you know what that means?"
She didn't have the heart to tell him no. She had never had friends, people to rely on. Not before them.
Kota let out a soft sigh, and James knew he knew. They always seemed to figure her out.
"James, friends don't leave friends. No matter what the fight is, no matter what they're going through. Friends stick together, in the good and especially in the bad."
She let out a soft sob and hand coming to cover her mouth.
"Hey, hey." He knelt down in front of her his elbows resting on her knees his hands coming to her face. "James it's okay."
"It's not!" She yelled "I shouldn't have been eavesdropping. I overreacted, I always screw things up. I just can't do things right, I don't know how things work."
