Sean's P.O.V."Forward movement will be your driving force."
"James!" Sean and Owen spoke at the same time calling out to the redhead. Her head whipped around her curls flipping over her shoulder a wide smile crossing her lips.
Any previous pain escaping her grey-blue eyes. A smile coming to her lips eyes blank as if she was feeling no emotions at all.
He couldn't help the frustration that bubbled within him. Sometimes it felt like with James every step forward was two steps back.
It wasn't her fault of course she'd been through a lot, her parents, the foster care system, bullies at school, and boys who can't take no for an answer.
He couldn't imagine putting his trust out to someone only to be taken down again and again. Trust took so much time to build but it was hard.
Especially when Sang was so open with her emotions. He could read the blonde like an open book when she was nervous, shy, annoyed. That he knew how to help.
Even if the blonde had her own struggles with coming to terms with her feelings. At least she gave him something to work with.
James though? James tended to avoid it all costs. Of course she had gotten better. She'd made so much progress admitting when she didn't like something. Saying no.
But some moment's she would push it all away with a joke or a shrug.
It left him feeling...lost.
How do you reassure someone who doesn't want to open up about their feelings?
His eyes flickered over to Owen. It took way too long to get the trust he had from the other man. With Owen, though he pushed limits, he always pushed the bounds because Owen needed someone like that.
He needed someone to stand up to and not be intimidated even when Sean had been when they were younger he did his best not to show it.
It could be difficult though given how prissy the other man could be. Who wore suits at twelve?
With James's he couldn't figure out if she needed to be pushed through? Sometimes it was hard to figure out what James needed because he didn't want to go too far. Push her to the point where she wouldn't want to come back.
Sometimes you had to push through, he didn't want the girl to think they didn't care or they didn't notice.
Because Sean knew that every single guy on their team was paying in-depth attention to every little detail of both girls.
"Fellas!" The redhead exclaimed her voice and tone indicating that she was on top of the world.
He hated when she did that.
Lock away her emotions because she didn't know how to process them. He thought back to truth and dare how terrified James had looked at that moment.
Her whole face crumbling.
For one second.
For one simply second.
It was odd seeing the redhead go blank seeming trapped in her head. It was a brief moment he'd have missed it if he hadn't been looking right at her but it was there.
"-I'm good! Avery should be here shortly-"
They didn't give a fuck if Avery would be here now or in ten minutes. They just wanted her.
