chapter 23

"Hey "i said as soon as i entered jasons room. He was astonished to see me. I wanted to know the explanation of whatever he said to me on the phone. I wanted to know why would he say something like that.

"hey " he grabbed me by my waist and kissed me. This made me forget every drama i can here for. I was relly not in a mood to indulge myself in all this, so i decided to change the topic, as he walked towards the window , staring a the clouds and i followed him.

"aren't they beautiful"i asked.

"yeah, you love summer too ? " he questioned .

"i dont love anything or anyone. Love is for suckers . I just hate . " i dont know why i replied like that,but after there was an awkward silence for few minutes.

"do you wanna go with me ? " i asked thinking about my evening plans and changing the topic

"nah, i am sorry . I have lots to do "

"i am going to the beach "

"i will go " he winked at me. Okay, thats odd.

"we will leave at 4 . Be ready, pick me
from my dorm "

I walked away, thinking about my own house ,mom is insisting me to buy.

It was already 4:15 . I finished packing my stuff an hour ago. I don't know what jason's up to. But i suppose waiting is my only option.

I decided to leave, after him not showing up even after long 20 minutes . He is not picking my call , not answering my texts . Not knowing what to do , I decided to drive by myself .

The way till here was pleasant. It's a nice day , weather is great and I am full of enthusiasm. I changed into my swimsuit and was just pulling the chair , when jason called .

"Hey " he seems fine , so he stood me up .

"Hey , where are you ?" I asked and his reply was not expected.

"I am with leslie , your mom had a heart attack. " oh my God . What the f***. What the hell is wrong with leslie .why she never calls me and always involve other people in my family matters. I decided to deal with all that stuff later and told jason to text me the address of the hospital.

I rushed to the hospital , leaving leslie with all kind of voicemail , texts , messages , missed calls. But I think I she is too busy to pick my calls.

Seeing jason , standing by the reception , was a big relief . I literally ran towards him and kisses him , forgetting all my problems for a minute .

"Hey , where is she ? "

"Come with me ."

He took me towards the private area and addresses to my mom , laying down on the bed , sleeping.

"How is she ? "I asked the guy who looks like a doctor .

"Uhm...sorry, who are you ?

"I am eva Johnson, mrs Johnson's daughter . "

"Oh , I see. She is doing fine for now . It was a minor attack . But she should watch her stress to avoid any further risks. "He said and relieved himself from me . I took his permission and walked inside the ward .

"Hey , momma , what happened ? "I asked her , making myself on the stool kept on the side .

"I am fine , no need to worry . It was just a minor attack . "She repeated what doctor said .

"I already know that , your doctor told me . But what I wanna know is the reason you are taking so much stress . "I would scream if it wasn't the hospital .

"We will discuss it later . By the way , your boyfriend seems kinda cool . "

"He is mom and how do you met him . Why did you called him instead of me ?"

"I was not in a condition to call anyone . Leslie told me that you are not picking her phone and she tends to know jason so I agreed to fetch his help.He seems nice though . " I just wanted to leave the stupid topic for now . I will discuss it with les later .

"Okay , we will talk about it later ."

"When you can leave this place ."

"Probably tommorow " she replied .

"Okay , you feeling fine now. How did this happen ."

"I dont know, doctor says that my mind has been under lot a stress right now. So I should keep a check on that . "

"What are you stressing about so much . I thought after kickstarting your love life , u will be happy atleast. "she gave me a stare after me air quoting her love life . She told me that she is worries about her case...which really slipped out of my mind after all these things that have happened in past few days .

"Are you gonna stay , dont you have to go to college . "

"I am gonna stay, I will be outside if you need anything . Doctor told me to let you rest ." I left , thinking about if anything worse can happen today . "

I was not in a mood to talk about toxic things like asking jles why is jason here and asking jason why he didn't felt the need to call me , but ite fine till moms doing okay . I decided to go home , take a shower and refresh myself .

But no theres not a chance , that I can relax .

"Hey "tom said as he spotted my arriving towards him in the corriddor.

"Hey , what are you doing here ?" why leslie is making such a big fuss about my mom. I mean her coming was still fine . But dragging our boyfriends in this is way too much.

"Oh , nothing . A friend of mine is going through a surgery . " I would like to know what kind of surgery but i was too tired to talk .

"Are you alone or .. "

"No , ..uhm , my dad is here too . You wanna meet him ?" Me ..no .

"C'mon, he can be your stepfather if everything goes well ."that's awkward .

"Uh...here he comes. He is mr charlie frederickson , my dad . She is eva , dad. " he said made an excuse to leave us alone .

"Nice to meet you , sir ." I dont know what else to call him .

"Uh , you are a little formal kid , aren't you ? Well , I suppose you got it from your mama. " we laughed .

"Hey , so you guys finally met " I am happy les is here.

"Ya , now you are too " mr charlie said , he doesn't like les . Oh my god .

"Yes , I am , mr charlie . " she replied and walked away .

I decided to bid farewell to mr charlie , asked mom if I can come back in an hour and after her approval went off after meeting jason.
