chapter 31

For the first time no one was in my room ...I mean dorm room when I entered . I have been blushing all day long , not have been  picking any calls from les  , but it was  not something I was  proud of . She should be the first person , well also the last if amelia and me were on the same note as we were when I moved here ,  to know about  about  about  waht happened last night . Jason and I have been talking on phone since then and I miss him way too much already . I hope he makes it on time for tonight's dinner . 

I am happy that todays Saturday and I don't have any classes , I dont want to miss then anymore . Otherwise , I will really not be able to even pass this year .

I called les to tell everything before she gets to know it through anyone  else .

"Hey , how are ya ? " she picked on the very first thing , like she was sitting on the phone. 

"I am fine,    someone's in a really great mood . "She suspected .

"Well, why  won't i be ? "

"You slept with jason last night ?" How does she know ?  Well, leave it .

"Ya , it  was so good  . " I was literally screaming .

"Yeah yeah , I know what you mean , I am engaged . "What did she say . Wait, I heard it wrong . Yes, I definitely heard it wrong . She cant be engaged  . Well she either pregnant or stupid . 

"I am sorry not to tell you before . I was going to . It happened this afternoon when I came back  to Seattle.  "I am stunned . What is happening ?   Is everybody going insane . Are they mad . Firstly , Brett and amelia . Now , eva and tom . Are all college going people marrying now.

"Okay , but you are not getting married , though , right ?"

"Oh gosh , no . "She refused to my relief, because I am not ready to be a maid of honor right now . She told me that they both just were in love the commitment they would have to each other and so got engaged , but are not planning to be married anytime soon . Atleast not unless they go all crazy  . 

" Is tom back from boston , I mean here ? " i asked her stupidly .

"Yeah , you wanna facetime  ?"

"You are with him ? Your father knows ? Wait , his father knows ?
Is he okay with you both getting engaged . And your father , he seems really protective,  isn't he ?"

"Uhm , well , they will be fine . " she almost whispered .

"What do you mean by that  "  she hasn't told them yet .

"Well, we haven't told them ,  yet . "See , here we go .

"And when are you gonna tell him , les . He deserve this much atleast,  after your moms death or else wise. Doesn't he.  "

"I am sorry , les . I didn't mean to . "

"Nah , you are right , I will tell him right now . "

"What do you mean right now ? " I was asking when she told me by disconnecting the phone .  As soon as I hung up on les , jason called .

"Good for you . " we talked for almost an hour and i didn't realized it's almost six . I have to get ready for the dinner .

Unlike Jason's usual choice , the restaurant was a really expensive one . It looked  sumptuous . Why would he bring me here ?  I am not even dressed for this luxurious  mess right now .

"Jason , why are we here ? "

"You will see . " he said and walked me right into a VIP section .

"Oh my god , his father was sitting there in a black color suit . Why would he make me meet his parent without me preparing .

"Hey , nice to meet you . "His father said as i passed a glare  to jason .

"There's no need to panic , you have met him before . It will be fine .  " he said to me as he literally pushed me on the chair . 

"Oh yeah , for you . You are  not the one who is sweating all over "

"Why are you so scared and what do you think is gonna happen ? Afterall he is a human , not an atomic bomb , eva . Okay he is waving at us , see , everything is fine . Let's go . " He said . I am not at all good at meeting even my  friends parents . I fumble and get nervous and mess eveyprtything eventually . And this is my boyfriend's father .  I was adjusting my dress constantly , checking my makeup in mirrors that were running all over the walls . I was wondering where is his mom,  when the waitress standing behind us ,  patted me on my shoulder and accompanied us to the table .

"Hey , nice to meet you , miss eva johnson ." Gosh , he is formal .

"Nice to meet you too , sir . " we all ordered our food and sat there talking for hours .

Without even realizing we have talked for hours and to my astonishment everything has been well .

"May I take your leave . Hope to meet again , soon . I really have to go . Its business.  "Jason's father said and departed .

"Are we gonna stay ? " I alsed , looking at jason .

"Nope , I have a better place to go "he exclaimed and told me to follow him .

After fifteen  minutes of walking we were standing in front of   an ice cream  bar . We walked inside and a really old lady walked from behind the bar and hugged  jason , when he whispered something in his ear and she nodded and went inside the door that was behind the bar . I suppose it was kitchen .

"Who is she "  I questioned him as he seated himself on the dusty couch of that small bar. 

"Uhm , its really long story , you don't wanna know it  . "

"Oh , trust me I do , go on . anyways she is going to be there for a while.  "

"Ok , here it goes . She owned this shop since she was really young , you know the old lady , bought it with her husband.  They were very happy to have this place to themselves . It was the only  soure of their income . But after few years  , her husband  commited suicide because of some family problems and her son tried to sell this place to shift somewhere else in Jersey  with his wife and children . My parents were their regular customer and offered to help , they bought this place and since then helps her in times of need .   She is really kind with our family and treats us  really well. " he stopped when she entered with two giant  bowls of ice cream.  I was not able to make out regarding its flavour , but they looked moth watering .

"What are these? "

"Uhm , cookie dough . They are really tasty . You haven't tried them before . "

"Uh  , no . But I will now . "I laughed and took a bite .

"Wow !  It really is tasty . "I said .

We enjoyed our bowls , talked a bit more and left the bar as jason was getting cold .
