We sat there cuddling with her for a few minutes, then managed our way to the couch with her until she calmed down. When she stopped crying, I wiped her eyes for the third or fourth time, and kissed her cheek. Dahvie pulled her into another hug and kissed her hair.
"Better?" he asked, his voice quiet.
She nodded into him and he pulled away with a gentle look in his eyes and a small smile. Hunter smiled back weakly and ran a hand through her hair. "Sorry about that," she said quietly. "Thanks for calming me down."
If there was one thing I knew about her that Dahvie didn't, it was the thing she had with guilt. She just couldn't handle it. I kissed her cheek and leaned down to look in her eyes. "Hey... Don't worry about it. You're fine sweet-" I shook my head out. "Hunter," I corrected. "You're fine." I looked up at Dahvie. "Let's get her to the house." He nodded in agreement.
"Let me wipe off this makeup first, kay?" Hunter asked.
"No problem."

We brought Hunter back to the house and explained the situation to the guys. We all talked for a couple minutes and decided that we should have Hunter stay with us, under the radar.
Hunter wasn't fond of the idea though. "What if Ronnie finds me?"
"We won't let her," Dahvie assured. "We have bodyguards, as if we need them." He motioned to me and I chuckled.
"True enough, but they're much stronger than I am. Not that I won't be at her myself."
Hunter tried and failed to hide her smile. "Oh I know you will Jayy. But... still. And besides, I can't drive my car, what about my job?"
Much as I was more than willing to pull her under my support, I knew she wouldn't want that and that she'd feel really guilty if I even offered. "One of us can drive you from here." I sighed, shaking my head and chuckling at myself. "Well, we both know that's me offering." I smiled. "I'll drive you."
"You? Please, you'll never get up," Dahvie teased.
"Yes I will."
He laughed. "Oh I know you will. Just because it's for her."
Hunter's smile widened. "Aww," she said playfully. She wrapped her arms around my neck tightly. Almost too tightly, not in a painful way, but in a girlfriend way. I tried to hide how happy it made me to feel this again behind my laughter as I let my arms rest around her lower back. She pulled back a million years too soon and I saw nerves flash in her eyes, just for a second, and I had no doubt they were reflected back in mine. But her sweet smile remained. "If you really mean that..."
I nodded. "Of course I do."
"Then okay."
"Thank you Hunter. I feel safer knowing you're here with all of us. We will not let her find you, I swear, but if she does, we will defend you."
She nodded. "So, back in my old room then?"
Dahvie smiled. "It's exactly how you left it. The door hasn't been opened since. I think...?" he questioned seriously, his eyes wondering to me.
I shook my head. "Not once." I smiled playfully. "What good's her bed without her?"
Hunter blushed and I smirked, knowing I got away with that joke. "It's no good with me either!"
"Well we'll see about that tonight, won't we angel?" I said with a laugh.
She recovered quickly. "If you can handle me..." she teased.
Dahvie laughed. "Watch it you two."
"Or we'll start forcing you lovebirds together again." Aussie finished for him.
I shook my head with a sad smile, turning my back to Hunter to hide it from her. "Nah, that ship has sailed."
