I smiled, feeling my tension lessen and my shoulders slump as I recognized the weight on them.
"Jayy," I whispered.
"Hmm?"
"Wake up."
"No."
"Please?"
"Fine... Gimme five to wake up."
I chucked at him. "See ya in twenty." I got up and got out a new outfit.
"Works for me," he grumbled playfully.
I laughed at him and got in the shower, only for a knock to sound a few minutes later. "Breakfast in about an hour," Dahvie said.
"Kay."
"And... Don't forget you've gotta go to the cops and show them that text today."
"Right, I'll get moving then, thanks for reminding me."
"Welcome."
"One more thing, mind getting Jayy up?"
"He already is, amazingly enough. He's watching a movie on the couch. Oh yeah, he said to call downstairs before you come out because he doesn't want you to get a spoiler."
"It's the one he's making me watch then?"
"Yep."
"Kay, I'll do that." I kept showering, admittedly using Jayy's body wash because it smelled good and who needs more reason than that?
When I was coming downstairs, dressed in a simple red tank-top and black acid washed skinny jeans that were (intentionally) torn up all the way down the legs. "Comin' down Jayy!"
"Yep!" he called back. I heard the TV shut off. "Kay, you're good."
I came downstairs and he looked at the jeans. "Sure about those near the cops?"
"Town police, known me since I was a kid. Most of 'em wouldn't dream of fucking with me, and the others respect me at least. Minus Axel's dad."
"His dad works there?"
"Yeah, Ray. Traded his sperm for a threesome with two chicks. Knowingly."
"Ouch... You gonna be okay?"
"Yeah, I should be."
"One of us can go with you if you want."
"I'll be fine Jayy, just a little paperwork to prove he..." I shook my head out, feeling my throat clench. "Because of the accident and not of another complication. We saw him an hour before that text and I spent a dinner, a movie, and just random wandering time with him. That should be enough to prove it."
"Okay... If you're sure."
"I am. But thank you." I gave him a tight hug for a moment, then pulled back.
We watched Will & Grace, as per my begging, until we finished eating, unfortunately meaning I had to go.
Dahvie gave me a gentle hug. "You'll be okay?"
"Yeah, no less then I'd be with you guys there, anyway. I'm gonna cry no matter what, I've accepted that."
He nodded and Jayy gently kissed my forehead before I left. "Be careful, you know who could be anywhere."
"I know."

Unfortunately, I didn't know who I really needed to watch out for.
