Aussie shook his head. "I'm not gonna convince you anyway am I?" He sighed. "Hunter, pay him no mind, you're just a friend, okay?"
I chuckled at Aussie, elbowing a smirking Jayy. "I know Aussie, it's fine. You've had plenty of time to say something if you actually liked me and you didn't, I take that for what it implies."
Aussie smiled. "Exactly, thank you."
Aussie's POV
Jeez, did he have to dwell on it like that? So I didn't mind an attractive girl kissing me, sue me! It's not like I knew she was taken! Last I heard, that was dead and buried, or at least they were pretending it was.
Of course, I was glad that they were following J's dying wishes. Dahvie had come to me, looking for advice after he got his text. I'd asked him to let the pair go, knowing that if he told them what J wanted, Hunter might've gotten with Jayy just because of that. If Jayy had found that out, which would've happened sooner or later, it would have hurt him even more than not having Hunter back to begin with.
But it seemed they were happy now, so I could feel safe in knowing Jayy was. I'd always liked them together, despite myself. I could see the pain Jayy had been out through, and I didn't wish it to last just because I had a thing for her. She was just a girl to me, a beautiful, sweet, near-perfect girl, but a girl. To Jayy, she may as well've been his lord and maker for all he loved her. And I don't blame him, she dragged him out of hell. I didn't have that kind of bond with her.
If I'm honest, I wasn't sure I had any sort of bond with her, we just sort of joked around. Past that, I don't think she thought of me besides in passing, if even then.
'Aussie, quit it,' I scolded myself, mentally shaking my head out.
I hid the building desire to get away as best I could. "I'll go make food."
"I was gonna do that," Hunter protested.
"About that, how did you plan to get around on those legs?" Jayy asked.
Hunter looked down for a moment. "Right... Those..."
I chuckled, shaking my head at her cuteness. "Like I said, I've got it hon."
A teasing smirk played on Jayy's lips. "Let him do it Hunter," he said, slight emphasis on the 'ter'.
It only confused me for a second before I quickly found my way to the kitchen.
"Fuck..." I muttered. That turned out to be my motto for most of the day.

Pumped out two chapters and got an idea for a coming one, I'm really inspired right now, seems the short break did me good. I have a chapter for tomorrow too, but I figured I'd give you this one too to make up for my missed chapter. Sorry if that fucks up your ability to let me know about major issues with the Aussie thing, but I really wanted to get this chapter out!
Just so you know, tomorrow's is much less playful.
: )
