"NOW, I KNOW why you're hiding her." Agad na sinabi ni Caleb pagbungad ni Alaric sa wine bar sa bahay nila. Siguradong naihatid na nito si Gianna sa apartment.
Naningkit ang mga mata ng kanyang kakambal. "'Wag mo siyang idamay dito, Caleb. She's a good woman."
"And a great kisser, too." Panggagatong pa ni Caleb sa galit ni Alaric. Although deep inside, he could still smell the woman's divine scent, the sweet taste of her lips against his and the warm feeling brought by her embrace...
Sa isang iglap ay hawak na ni Alaric ang kuwelyo ng damit niya. "So, ito ang dahilan kung bakit ka bumalik? Para sirain ako?"
"Oo." Walang gatol na sagot niya. "I haven't forgotten every single thing that happened in the past, Ric."
"So, this all comes down to Erin." Para bang napapagod na binitiwan siya nito. "Pagkalipas nang limang taon, bakit ngayon pa, Caleb?"
"I couldn't think of a perfect timing than your wedding, Ric. I always knew you'd love again and marry. At tama ako." Tumalim ang pagkakatingin niya rito. "Five years are worth it."
"And what if I don't get to marry?"
Nagkibit-balikat siya. "Then I'd think of a plan B. I wouldn't mind waiting forever, brother. See, that's the beauty of revenge. It doesn't care about the time. It just wants to get even."
Tila frustrated na nahaplos ni Alaric ang noo nito. "God, Caleb-"
Malalim siyang huminga para kontrolin ang sakit na nanunumbalik sa sistema niya. "Just guard your precious Gianna so tight that I wouldn't be able to come near her. Because you don't know what I'm capable of when I'm in a revenge mode." Inilagay niya sa bulsa ng polo ng kakambal ang calling card niya bago siya tumayo. "Call me in case of emergency which I'm sure... there will be."
