The heart of Drakkara.

River was the last to set foot inside the chamber.
The two mercenaries were the first in, followed by Sebastian and the two farmers.

Sebastian wanted to make sure there were no dangers lurking around. Only once he was certain it was safe he let her in.

She gave him a dirty look before walking inside more. She surely didn't need him to babysit her.

The room was huge. There were piles of gold in every corner. Goblets, jewelry, discs, so much stuff to leave all of them speechless for a few minutes.

"Here we are." Sebastian proclaimed.

"Hell yeah!" Jake and Stephen cheered.

Pedro and Juan shook their heads.

Then the looting begun.
Jake and Stephen sat down their weapons and started filling their bags with the most expensive things they could find.

Pedro and Juan were looking around, still scared but with greed quickly taking over their hearts. Slowly they started pocketing items as well, with a guilty look on their faces.

While everybody got busy taking souvenirs, Sebastian had just noticed a small box on top of a golden construction in the center of the room.

River walked up to him and looked at the box.

"What do you think that is?"

She asked.

"I think I might know and if it is what I think, we cannot touch anything in this room."

He said worried.

River turned towards the men as they sung happily and filled their bags.

"Uhm... do you wanna tell them that?" She asked as she walked closer to the box, examining it.

"A pressure mechanism." She said.

Sebastian nodded. "I knew you had an eye for details. " He smiled.

"Do you think that could be the heart of Drakkara? The talisman from your research?"
River was curious.

Sebastian sighed. "I fear so. And when I say fear, I mean it. I don't think we will be able to recover it, if we move the box I am sure it would start a defense mechanism."

River nodded. "I see. We better pay attention to what they take. Could there be more pressure mechanisms?" She knew perfectly well how those worked. The Inca were extremely subtle with their traps.

"I am not sure." He moved towards the men. "Pay attention. If you see a button or lever or something that looks like a mechanism, don't touch it. This place doesn't feel safe."

Jake laughed. "Come on, professor. We got to the chamber, the traps are gone." He shrugged and picked up more jewelry.

Sebastian shook his head. "I mean it. This is not a temple, it is a tomb and that is a crypt." He pointed at the golden crypt in the center of the room.

Stephen stopped looting for a second and looked at Sebastian worringly, then, Jake elbowed him and told him to get back to work.

River sighed. "That is enough gold, we should leave the rest as it is."
