Halloween.

The first two months of classes went by easy.

River loved helping out Professor Jones, because it gave her time to be away from everybody and often to be alone with him.

It wasn't too hard to figure out she was developing a massive crush on her teacher, how couldn't she, he was the only person in that whole town, that seemed interested about her and her dreams.

He was kind, always concerned about her, always making sure she was doing okay.

River liked him way too much. She was still making sure to not have him too close though, every time he looked at her he seemed so puzzled, almost like he was trying to study her, analyze her.

But that was maybe just her paranoia.

From his side, Sebastian was extremely intrigued with the girl that everybody thought as as a boy.

He was trying really hard to figure out the reason why she was pretending to be of the opposite sex. He let his curiosity win him over and went to the library to research about his family.

Nowhere on records it said that River Carter was a girl. It was a real puzzle, Sebastian loved puzzles.

And there was never one he couldn't solve.

It was amusing to him watching her blush and turn away, everytime she caught him looking at her.

He simply smiled, going back to work, thinking that she looked cute, trying to figure out why he was looking at her so much.

He kept seeing her also, almost everynight in his wolf form. Part of his solve-the-riddle plan.

River seemed to love his animal form and since she really looked always sad when at home, he just couldn't help but try to bring her comfort. Plus, he loved the way her hands touched his fur.

Halloween was getting closer and closer. It was River's favourite holiday.

The school was organizing a party this year. Everybody was talking about it.

"I am so excited I can't think straight!" Samantha held onto Loan's arm as they walked to class.

"Yeah we know. This is just the twelfth time you told us." Loan smirked and looked at her.

Sam hit his arm, complaining.

River chuckled softly. "It does sound great. I heard the school is renting out an abandoned farm for the whole week of the party. They are setting up a haunted house." River's voice was calm, she had to keep her excitement under control.

Samantha was really interested in what her friend had said. "Really? Oh my gosh, Loan. We have to come up with something brilliant." She told him with enthusiasm.

Loan nodded and walked inside Professor Jones' class. They quickly took a seat for the teacher was almost ready to start.

Jones looked over at River and nodded at her, she nodded back, avoiding smiling, because the way he looked at her, always made her want to smile.
