I make it to room 142, Psychology early. It's 7:53, we're supposed to be here at 8 am.

I see a guy in a long-sleeved plaid shirt, blue jeans, and some vans.

I smile at him and go to open the door when he says, "it's locked.".

"Oh," I giggle and step away.

"I'm Brianna," I say and reach my hand out.

"I'm Jake." He replies, taking my hand and shaking it. He drops it.

"Hello!" A woman says, unlocking the doors and stepping in, "two early birds I see!" She's so giddy it radiates to me.

"Yeah." We both say in unison, I take a seat in the middle, Jake follows me, taking the seat next to mine.

"So are you a freshman too?" I ask and he nods.

"Yeah! Did you come here from out of state or...?"

"Actually I did. I came from Florida." I smile and he looks shocked.

"Florida? Really?" He gawks and I nod.

"What about you, Jake?"

"No, I've always lived in Georgia." He says and I nod. People begin to flood the room, I take out my notebook and pens. Jake does the same.

About 10 minutes later the class begins.

"Hello everyone, I'm Mrs. Deavy. Alright, I get it," the woman yells for everyone to hear, "it's college, you don't want to do much! I get it! In those classes, it's not gonna be so hard! It's pretty much, understanding the mind..." She goes on and I take notes.

She's a bit laid back for a college teacher. I wish she was a little more, strict?

Soon she dismisses us after 50 minutes, me and Jake stand up.

"Remember, the schedule is Monday, Wednesday and Friday!" She yells out.

I write that down before quickly putting everything away.

"Do you wanna get coffee? I don't have my next class for an hour." I ask Jake and he nods.

"Me too, what's your next class?" He asks.

"Economics, you?"

"Oh, I have Computer Science." He says and I nod.

"Sounds fun." I tease and he chuckles.

We walk in comfortable silence to the coffee shop right near the building. It's cute, light blue paint with cursive writing on the side.

The Main Stream

I smile and walk into the aesthetically pleasing shop. The aroma of coffee beans plaster my face.

Jake has his eyes on the menu. I decide to get a mocha latte. I'm not a big fan of actual coffee. Sweet stuff is more on my side.

We get to the front of the line and order our drinks. I sit at the table and grab my phone to text David.

Me
Hey!
9:01am

I turn it off and Jake grabs our coffees, sitting in front of me.

"So, tell me about yourself," I tell Jake and lean on my elbows.

"Oh uh," he sips his hot coffee, "I'm 17, I live with my mom, her boyfriend, his son, and his daughter. I don't do anything very interesting, I like to play videogames I guess and my favorite color is red." He says and I nod, sipping through the straw of mine. He leans in on his elbows, his blonde hair moves in front of his face, blue eyes staring into mine, "your turn."
