Shawn kissing me keeps replaying in my head. It's the fifth time we've kissed, this is by far the most 'powerful' one. It felt way different than before. I don't understand why. Even when he went down on me it wasn't that intense... Maybe it was, but it wasn't the same.

"What's going on with Jake?" He asks and put my head on the window.

"I don't know." I sigh and he looks at me.

"You okay?" I smile.

"Yeah I'm okay." I look at him and he's staring at the road, "why'd you walk out like that earlier?" I ask and he turns his head.

"You said nothing happened between us." He says, turning back to the road. He takes a left onto Jake's street.

"Well I mean, yeah." I laugh and he furrows his eyebrows, "I said that because there's really nothing to talk about Shawn." I sigh and he pulls into the driveway. I try to get out but he locks it, putting it in child lock, "Shawn!" I whine and he takes off his seatbelt and turns to look at me.

"What do you mean, there's nothing to talk about, Brianna?" He interrogates and I undo my seatbelt.

"Shawn, we," i point to him and than me, "we have nothing going for us-"

"What are you talking ab-"

"Shawn, we are two totally different peo-"

"So what! Your saying just because your more mature than me-"

"I never said that!" I yell and he rolls his eyes.

"I just don't understand why we apparently don't have any thing. It's bullshit Bri." He says and I shake my head.

"Shawn," I get closer to him and he looks me in my eyes, "you don't date." I say and he drops his head on the side of the seat, "you said it yourself." I tilt my head and he just stares at me.

"You don't understand Bri." He says and I scoot closer.

"Than help me understand." I say and he begins to bounce his leg. I sigh when he doesn't say anything, "I gotta go inside." I say and reach across, unlocking the car. I turn around and open it. I walk out and quickly walk to the front door. I knock on the door and an older man opens it. I recognize him from the photos.

"Hello, can I help you?" He smiles, his teeth are perfect. I reach my hand out.

"I'm Brianna, I'm a friend of Jake." I shake his hand and he smiles wider, than looks behind me and his eyes go wide.

"Oh, Shawn! I wasn't expecting you." He says and Shawn doesn't say anything and stands behind me, "are you both here to see Jake?" He asks and I nod.

"Yeah," i smile and Shawn puts his hand on my waist, making me sigh. His dad looks at his hand and nods to himself.

I wonder what he's thinking.

"Alright, come on in." He says, opening the door all the way, keeping his eyes on Shawn. Shawn guides me to upstairs, even though I already know where to go.

"That was mean, ignoring your dad like that." I say and he glares at me.

"That was mean, walking out on me like that." He remarks and I roll my eyes.

"That was mean." I mimic him in a stupid voice. He snorts and I chuckle, I walk into Jake's room and hes sitting with his back on the wall, and his hands in his hair. Shawn closes the door and Jake looks up and I immediately see his puffy face. I bend down and reach out my hand, he takes it and I drag him to sit down with me on the bed.

"Why are you here?" Jake snarls at Shawn and he shrugs. I take off my shoes and sit in the middle of the bed, Jake sits next to me.

"Ask her." He points at me and I cross my arms.

"It has nothing to do with me, he just insisted on giving me a ride." I defend and he jumps on the bed, resting his head on my thighs, "you okay?" I ask and he shakes his head.

"My uncle died Brianna." He cries and my heart sinks. I put my arms around him and he falls into them. I hear him sob and notice Shawn's sitting up.

"We're gonna talk later," he mouths and I nod, "I'll be downstairs." He winks and slowly leaves the room.

"I just talked to him last week." He sobs and I squeeze him closer to me. His whole body sinks into my arms.

"I'm so sorry, Jake." I whisper and he shakes.

"I should've called him more, I should've seen him more. I should've done anything, I would do anything to see him again." His voice cracks and he squeezes me.

"Jake," I lift up his head, "there's nothing you could've done, bub." I sigh and he closes his eyes.

"I could've loved him more." He whispers and I tear up.

"Jake, you are amazing, you've been there for me since I got here. I love you so so much, and I'm telling you this as one of your bestfriends," he bites his lip to keep in the sobs, "it's not your fault." I sigh and a tear rolls down my cheek. I hate seeing him like this. It kills me.

"I just can't believe he's gone." He bawls and I wipe his tears away, moving his dirty blonde hair out of his face, "I promise you Jake... Everything will be okay."
