I walk into the room. I'm stunned to see just Shawn and Maria. Maria smirks at me and Shawn just stares in shock. I hesitate to come back to get my wallet. Daniels outside the door, waiting.

I open my mouth to say something but nothing comes out.

"Sorry, I just came to get my wallet," I say awkwardly, not really wanting to move from the door. I walk in and go to my cabinet.

"Hey, do you have a quarter for the vending ma-" Daniel says, walking in. He stops when he sees Shawn. I clear my throat.

"Oh, are you sick?" Maria says, tilting her head, "it's probably because you were in the rain. What a stupid thing to do! Hey Daniel." A smile growing on her face. I laugh sarcastically.

"Okay, uh, bye," I say flatly and shove Daniel out of the dorm from the awkwardness.

"Why the fuck was he in there?" Daniel asks and I shrug. I see Brooklyn down the hall. I smile and she smiles back.

"Hey, Brooke!" I say and she waves heartily.

"Hey!" She sounds upset.

"I think Shawn and Maria are inside waiting for you," Daniel says, putting a hand behind my back. Her smile falls and she sighs.

"Do you think I could hang out with you guys today? I just, I don't really want to be around then today." She says and me and Daniel nod agreeing.

"Of course." We say in unison. I giggle and she smiles.

"Thanks."

The door opens and Shawn steps out, seeing Brooklyn.

"Wanna go?" I ask Daniel and Brooke. They both nod and we all walk quickly to the stairs. I look back at Shawn, Maria's at his arm. I quickly look away and head down the stairs with the two.

My phone buzzes repeatedly in my pocket.

Jake :) is calling...

"Hello?" I ask.

"Hey!" He says chirpily.

"Hey!" I say and he clears his throat.

"So what happened last night?" He gets right down to it. I step away from Brooke and Daniel.

"Uh, I just calmed him down. We both cleaned." I lie and he chuckles.

"I can tell, you both did good, I guess." He compliments.

"Uh, thanks." I giggle and he sighs, "so you and Caroline ey?" I ask and I can practically see him smiling.

"Yeah. She invited me over last night after I told her what happened. I didn't see you in class this morning." He sighs and I think quick for another lie.

"Oh uh," I wipe my face, "I went to sleep later so I accidentally slept in," I say and he hums.

"Oh alright. You'll be in class tomorrow right?" He asks and I nod.

"Yeah yeah, for sure." I say, "I'll buy the coffee." He chuckles.

"Whatever, see ya loser."

"See ya later fart face." I smile.

We hang up and I walk back to Brooke and Daniel. They're both laughing at some kid that's on a leash.
