"I'm sorry I brought you into this," I whisper, staring out the window. The warm air from the heater blaring on my skin.

"You don't have to apologize, I'm glad you called." Daniel comforts and I sigh.

"I can't believe I was stupid enough to think that Shawn actually wanted to be my friend." I sniffle and push my hair out of my face.

"Listen, I think you should stay away from Shawn," Daniel suggests and I nod.

"I think I should too."

"Thank you, Daniel," I say as we stop in front of each other's door. He smiles and gives me a hug.

"Of course." He says into my hair. I sigh and he squeezes me tighter.

"I'll see you in class on Wednesday." He winks before going back into his dorm. I smile to myself and walk into my room. I quickly peel off my drenched clothes and hang Daniel's sweatshirt in my closet.

I put on a white oversized hoodie, some black biker shorts, and a pair of white Nike socks.

I climb into my bed and snuggle a pillow. I put on my thickest comforter and try to calm my muscles from the cold.

Why would he even do something like that? Who the hell does that? We were actually having a... Okay? Time, and he does that. It was so random.

I close my eyes and squeeze the pillow to my chest.

I wonder where Brooklyn is...

I gasp awake from my dream when I feel vibrating on my blanket. I sigh before grabbing my phone.

Oh my god. It's 2:51am.

Jake :) is calling...

"Hello?" I croak and Jake sighs.

"I'm so sorry for calling you this late Brianna. Can you get to my house? As soon as possible." I hear a crash in the background. I sit up quickly.

"Oh my god! Are you okay? What was that?" I fumble around until I switch on my lamp.

"Just get here please." He ends the call before I can ask again. I look in the mirror. All I have on is my pajamas.

Whatever.

I struggle to put on my white Nikes but quickly get them on. I grab my keys and turn off the light before leaving as quickly as I can. I check the time.

2:56am

I quickly leave the dorm before scurrying to Jake's house. He lives pretty far so I grab one of the bikes that the school keeps outside for students who need to get around. My mom doesn't trust me with a car so I don't have one. Obviously.

I pay for the bike and get on it. I've only been to Jake's house twice. I never even met his parents. We went the first time because I was curious about what his house looked like. He was being really awkward and stepping in front of me and diverting certain areas. The second time was because he forgot his phone and I told him I'd come to get it with him.

It's not a very big house. It only has 3 bedrooms. They're all upstairs. There's Jake's room, his parent's room, and the guest bedroom.

I pedal as fast as I can and finally enter the neighborhood. I look around at the isolation.
