I walk into Creative Writing and see Mr. Richards on his laptop, he greets me with a smile as I walk to my seat. I pull out my homework about the short book, Seen With.

It's about a girl who goes on a little date with her brother's best friend and she doesn't tell her brother about it at all. The two end up going on more dates and slowly falling for each other. Eventually, a person that's good friends with her brother sees the two of them together and runs it by the brother. When the brother finds out, he's furious because his best friend was seeing other girls at the same time as his sister. The sister goes into a minor depression and apologies' to her brother several times. The best friend begs for the sister to be with him, to give him another try but she never budges and moves on. He never does, or at least that's how the story ended.

A lot. I know. It was actually really interesting to read.

I pull out the book along with the essay on the book and bring the paper to Mr. Richards.

"Here you go sir," I whisper, not wanting to distract him. He smiles at me and takes the paper and book.

"Ah, thank you Brianna. I can always count on you to get the work done." He chuckles and puts the paper next to his computer, "did you enjoy the book?" He asks, folding his arms and looking up at me. His gray hair glistens as he moves.

"I did actually. There was obviously a lot going on, but it ended really nicely." I explain and he smiles again.

"I'm so happy I have a student like you." He announces, I blush at the old man and he sighs as the other people walk in, "I'm glad you enjoyed the short, Ms. Starr." He says, going back onto his computer. I turn and go back to my seat, I almost bump into someone I don't want to see.

"Oh sorry," I say and Shawn looks down at me. I quickly move away from him and back to my seat. I see someone's bag next to mine but ignore it.

It's probably Leann's.

I look over and see Jake come in, next to Leann. I furrow my eyebrows.

Then who's bag is thi-

Shawn sits next to me, pushing his backpack to the floor. My mouth goes dry and Jake notices Leann's seat was taken.

"Uh, I think you're in the wrong seat," I say and look around.

"Oh really?" He announces sarcastically and looks around, "I think I'm in the right one."

"Shawn, go sit somewhere else. In fact, I'll move if you're not going to." I insist, not wanting to deal with his bullshit.

"What is your problem?" He groans and I narrow my eyes.

"My problem? You're my problem, Shawn. Now could you please just move to another seat?" I beg and he shakes his head.

"Actually, I will. Only if you come to talk to me outside the classroom." He insists and I scoff.

"Shawn, no," I say and lean back in my chair.

"Okay fine, we'll talk about it here!" He yells and everyone's heads turn to us. My cheeks heat up. I roll my eyes and stand up.

"Hey Jake, I'll be right back," I inform him as he walks towards us. He nods curiously. I stand up and Shawn smirks.

We walk down the stairs and I catch a few people's eyes.

I bet this is a sight no one thought they'd see.

He opens the door harshly and I walk through it. People walk through the halls before there's barely any. Shawn turns to me, leaning on the wall.

"Now, tell me why you hate me so much." He demands, I cross my arms.

"You're an asshole." I spit and he chuckles.

"So are you."

"I'm only like that because you treat me like that."

"So that's it? I'll stop being an ass to you and you'll stop hating me?" He asks, tilting his head.

Should I tell him to like... Never kiss me again?

Butterflies storm through my stomach thinking about the kisses.

"I don't hate you." I admit and his eyebrows raise, "I'm just not that fond of you." I repeat for like, the fifth time.

"Oh my god, would you please stop saying that?" He says, putting his head back on the wall.

"Listen, Shawn, ever since I met you like 2 months ago, you've always treated me like shit, that's why I act like that. First, you do things without asking, then you curse me out, then," I clear my throat and think of something else, "then you say you hate me, your just rude, Shawn." I say and he rolls his eyes.

"I'm only like that because I'm not very fond of you either." He laughs, crossing his arms.

"Well, now you know why I hate you," I say and lean onto the wall.

"I think we should be friends." He says, looking out a window. I furrow my brows.

"Uh, I don't know. I think just not talking would be better." I clear my throat.

"Come on Brianna," he looks me in the eyes again, making my head spin, "I'm best friends with Brooklyn, I literally have keys to your dorm. We're always around each other, we have like 4 classes together and we're not that different." He removes himself from the wall to get closer to me.

"That!" I say and he narrows his eyes, "that's another reason, you keep like..." I try to find a non-embarrassing word.

"Flirting?" He finishes and I nod.

"It just throws me off because we hate each other and I'm just not used to you at all. It's just weird." I say and he nods.

"Alright," he takes a step back, "I'll stop flirting with you." He shrugs and I stare at him.

"Okay then, I guess we can be friends or whatever." I laugh and he smirks.

"Are you free today?" He asks and I shrug.

"Probably not," I answer and he nods.

"Wanna go to Chubby's to get to, you know, be friends. Do friendly things." He says sarcastically and I roll my eyes.

"I'll pass," I mutter. He groans, "your serious?"

"Yeah?"

"Uh, sure than. I guess." I say and he smiles.

"Alright cool, after class we can go." He demands before walking back in the class, not giving me any more time to say anything.

Holy crap. Me and Shawn could actually, maybe be friends. Feels like I'm in some sort of alternate dimension.
